Was there an actual draft for locals or were players just assigned to a team?

There was indeed, but the Irish one looked a bit fixed as they were assigning the Dubs to the Dublin side and the players from the North to the Belfast team.

Just looking at the schedule, it's a 6 team league and the top 4 get through to the semi finals? Cmon, that's a bit of a joke. Should just be the top two play the final.

Yeah, looks like there was a bit of gentlemans agreement alright. Would have been a bit silly having Kevin O'brien playing for Belfast and Boyd Rankin playing for Dublin.

On the question of Eoin Morgan, does he count as an overseas player? :pac:

    Eoin Morgan is overseas.

Difficult to see who opens with Babar Azam. Maybe Balbirnie may go and open with Morgan at 3. After that it's a string of All Rounders.

There is a hint of RCB about them. Stacked batting at the top and then a raft of 10-20 ball hitters

Can't say I'm shocked. I had no idea where this money was coming from. Apparently it was the same people involved in the Canada League and players have not been getting paid.

Awful for the players who would have made a nice bit of extra money from this.

Would be amazed if it even goes ahead next year.

Wonder could a first class system be established with Ireland, Scotland and Netherlands with those 6 teams, similar to the Rugby.

Even an ODI league and T20 yearly tournament would mean you get that good exposure of playing better players than they currently do and would be great for European cricket in general. You might get some TV money from India and you might get a few crowds at the matches here and maybe a decent sponsor.

Might entice a few players from going to England.

Read online that this postponement leaves a gap for all 3 countries in practice for the T20 WC qualifiers. So, there might be a little tri nation series or a few friendless of some sort in September?

Word on twitter is the Dutch are coming over here, hopefully the weather plays ball. Irish Domestic Cricket has struggled to get many results this summer.
