There was a scraping noise when the drum of my whirlpool washing machine - when it turned. It’s a awo/d 4306 model.
I figured it was coming from the heating element area and when I took the heating element out and looked in the wire support that supports the heating element seems to have bent and is scraping off the drum. It a bit in and would be difficult to straighten but I’m not sure 1. Why it got bent in the first place 2. What it should look like. Any ideas ?

Is it scraping continuously as you rotate the drum by hand or just scraping at one point?
At one point would indicate a dent on the drum which is unlikely, but possible.
Check the steel drum for any play within its plastic housing which would indicate worn drum bearings.
