Have prescription for Buccal Midazolam medicine on prescription for treatment of seizures etc.

Have been quoted €108 for 5mg. It is expensive and may not be needed within the expiry date period. Any advice on best chemist to buy from? Located in Donegal

Should this not be covered on the Long Term Illness scheme, and therefore be free to the patient? I'd ask the pharmacy about that scheme, OP.

Post in your local forum asking for info about pharmacies with the best pricing.

I know nothing about Dongeal, but certainly in Galway there is one pharmacy which sells me a regular on-prescription item for about 2/3 of the price of many others. It's likely other towns have similar.

Probably a fair bit cheaper in the north, if you are reasonably close?

They may well post, but I'm not sure of the legality of this.

    Yep, should be.

    Thanks, didn't think so.

Just to confirm, it is legal for a person to present at the pharmacy and have the prescription filled. They will dispense up to six months medication AFAIK.
