Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    I'm pretty sure the three laws don't prevent robots from lying so how is a checkbox going to stop them?

    I just don't get the checkbox.

    The capchas yeah, most humans can't even figure those out* (except the non-difficult ones which are basically outsourced OCR), but it must be straight forward enough to write a bot that can identify a checkbox and click it.

    *Although robots will probably be better able to figure those out more quickly than humans soon enough

    The three laws don't apply to real robots.
