Just saw this today,i like it!! I know a lot of people dont really like the bullpup design but i think this is just beautiful.Watched a future weapons programme about the actual guns once, sounds amazing. It really does look like the kind of futuristic weapon youd see in movies.
If i had the money to just throw away i know i'd get it!!

If I had the dosh I'd probably jump all over it too.

Buts its appeal has gone off since I got the gas bowback m4, decided I'd pimp that up a fair bit instead.

Paying crazy money for an AEG has no appeal to me anymore, which is a pity :(

TBH i think that it is a bit on the ugly side and a bit expensive too,i would perfere a SA80 over that.

I like the look of it, but yeah, if it were a gbb Tavor I'd be all over it for an AEG I just can't muster up the same enthusiasm. There was talk of that other company that are releasing one making a drop in GBB kit wasn't there? I'll hold on and wait and see.

The fundamentally busted MARS sight is a deal-breaker for me. Been on the idle lookout for a CQB gun for a while. I'd nearly go for this if it had a rail on top I could stick an eotech on.

Which Tavor is supposed to have a drop-in GBB mechbox option?

  • Registered Users Posts: 655 ✭✭✭tudenham10

Think TSI are meant to be doing the aeg/gbb version?

M.I.A have those in stock their not a bad price either
    http://www.mainirishairsoft.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=562
ive had a good look over them very strong i even had the chance to test them .. good range on them for a short barreled AEG their slightly shorter than the aug things .
i dont think the rate of fire is as fast as the Aug ..

90% sure I read that they are gonna be releasing an RIS rail for the Tavor for like 20 USD. Cant be sure, but I think it was in the news thread. Dex will probably know :)

That's for the TSI version as far as I know. You have to do a bit of DIY to get a 20mm rail on the Ares as Puding has done on the review thread.

I was all enthusiastic about getting one of these up until i got the AGM GBB, for some reason electric doesnt appeal to me as much as it used to. If TSI do release theirs this months i'll buy it and hope for the GBB kit. :)

am i the only one who thinks the tavor is one ugly gun?? IMO it looks like the b*****d child of a AUG and a galil!

Now I dont know about you, but I see some similarities there.

I'm a BULLPUP lover though, so my opinion on its aesthetics will be biased.

have to agree on the gbb thing, i've alwys had a thing against the sound of electricity, but i still see electric as being far more practical thean gas, i do not see a lot of people carrying arounf gbb for big events like berget and pr and stuff like that,

i love the sound the feel and realism and really wanted to do it myself, but when you start adding up just gas for an event its scary

The Tavor looks slick, mean, robust and just badass.

And it doesn't look retarded like a Type 97

I can only base this on the results of one Tavor and one AUG on one chrono, but the Tavor had a slightly faster rate of fire, if memory serves.

Err ..... they're both bullpups. That's about the only similarity. Beyond that I think you should get an eye-check up. The youth of today ... too much time spent playing XBoxes 2ft from the tv :P

Bullets... your issued eyes are being abused, please return them to the QM before parade tomorrow...

    Nothing alike...

as for 20mm rails... well if you are impaitent yes, its a diy job, wait a month or two, the ares comes out ;) (i has my sources)

Thought for a minute that comment was directed towards me! when I actually Like the Tavor :D had to re-read it before I realised it was directed at "Lethal Bullet". and not "bullets"

I got a new found love for Bull Pups! The few times I tried skirmishing using my really
long and heavy not so battle friendly FAL's (which point of note I still LOVE) I found them unwieldly
and sluggish to move about the place if your in an hour long round. I swapped it out for one of my
Aug's and the balance weight etc was much more comfortable. (Although the trigger was Horrid)
The Tavor looks like perfection for running about the place or getting dug in.

Pffffft ... I was watching projectors back in the mid/late-1980s.

    N00blette (not even a N00b)

I have to say I think it would look much more tempting if the barell was shorter. If the flashhider just ended at the end of the front assembly it would look pretty sweet.

Is this a modular rifle with exchanging barells?

Paddypower account got a nice boost there today ;)
