Considering a school move for our child however it will mean he has to stay back and repeat SI as the 1st class will be full.
Academically he's doing great, socially doing well, emotionally could definitely benefit from an extra year. He will be oldest in class by two months. A move means he will be 13 finishing primary rather than 12.
Reason for move is current school means he will not get into any secondary schools in our local area. This is a definite unless admission criteria change.

    Any advice?

What's full? 32, 35...have heard of classes of 40. I'd ask school to clarify.
No good to your child to have to repeat unnecessarily.
If you feel he will benefit that's one thing but seems unfair otherwise.

The DES are making it far more difficult for a child to “ repeat ,” especially where there aren’t learning issues .
“Full” depends on the school policy . Sometimes schools have a bigger class size for a year , as their numbers qualify them for an extra teacher , but the DES insists that teacher isn’t appointed until the following year .

Studies show the “ holding a child back” a year can have a very negative impact on the child , which is another consideration .

Holding back is a cod. Children develop at different speed and times. Let him enjoy school as he seems to be.
