How to black out windows in rented accommodation?

I'm living in a rented apartment, where the only window coverings are wooden slatted blinds; no curtain poles or tracks. The blinds are... alright at keeping light out, but not great. As the place is rented, I can't make any permanent changes, but does anyone have recommendations on temporary covers I could put over the windows / blinds to keep the light out, that won't do any damage to the walls, paintwork etc.?

You can get (or make, if you're so inclined) blackout blinds with stick-on "suckers" on them that you could stick to the glass.

The ones I've seen I have a feeling came from IKEA, but couldn't swear to that.

There's a little bit of "bleed" around the edge but makes the room very dark.

Something like this? Blackout curtain that sticks to the window. We got one years ago worked very well.

Big thanks for all the recommendations, lots of consensus as well, so I'll give those ones a try. Not sure that, as a 46 year old man, I'm their target market, but I'll go with whatever works!!

A lot is going to depend on which way your window is facing - my bedroom faces due east , I've a fairly close fitting black out blind , at 5 am on a summer morning the room is bright ...
My kids room faces due west , a fairly average set of curtains not massively close fitting , but their room is fine in the mornings -not a bedtime though ..

Could you carefully take down and store the existing blind ? And replace with a cheapo black out blind ?
