If you're looking to spend a bit of money on a top end knife, or buy a few at a time, http://www.knifeworks.com/ is THE best place to go! The shipping is expensive as its coming from the US, but you'll find in most cases, you'll still save a bunch of money if you compare the prices with other sites! Also, a MASSIVE selection!

Otherwise, if you're looking to go cheap, this is one of the best knife purchases I have made

Have a look around the site, a few great deals!

Hi, sorry I didn't know where to post this, so apologies. I was interested in buying a sword online, but it has to be a walking stick sword. Its for my father and he uses a walking cane to get about, he asked me if I knew where to get a sword cane or Sword walking stick ? does anyone know where to get them, are they illegal ( he just wants one for the novelty ) Will customs hold onto it or charge a me a fortune ? any ideas are much appreciated.

    Entirely illegal I'm afraid
    ( c ) a swordstick or dagger cane, that is, a hollow walking-stick or cane containing a blade which may be used as a sword or dagger;

Ok, that's pity, I've seen a few online but wasn't sure if I could order them without bringing unwanted attention from customs etc. I would still love to get him tho just to keep the oul lad happy. :)

Try ecop.com, used them twice and they have a huge selection, leave item in basket and they send you an email with a small discount 7 to 10% to encourage sale. Prices are very reasonable and they specifically indicate whether the item is from China or American made. Quality site

Just in case you haven't purchased a knife yet, or you want to buy a second. I strongly suggest the Mora bushcraft knife, I got the black one for my birthday and it's quite sweet for every day use. I haven't used it to baton or anything, but then again I also have an axe :P

    Some tempting stuff there!

To stay under the customs and VAT radar I'm tempted go get one of these for a BOB to see what the service is like.

A little off topic. I've bought a Buck Folding Hunter 110 online and customs have seized it. I dont believe it qualifies for this and it appears I have a 30 day period to appeal. Any tips/letter template to send to them? if i'm on wrong forum/thread I apologise.

Is it just for duty/tax that they want or have they stopped it because they say it's illegal?

Because it's illegal - tho from what I've read it isn't illegal as it's not a flick knife. came from an EU based shop so no duty to be paid.

afaik if it has a lock blade - most good knives do, then you could be stopped for carrying it in a public place, but that doesn't make it illegal. However to someone interpenetrating the law it might

Can you say it's work related? Seems a bit harsh to me as it's not exactly a kukri sized weapon.

I've yet to talk to the officer who seized it. We shall see what he says...

I've used blade hq and never had an issues. Ordered some things bigger than a buck 110. Heinnie Haynes is good to but at times the exchange rate is a little off putting but can highly recommend them.
Had another knife held up as I had to pay 30euros to get it released, but never had them seized.

Well, according to customs officer - it's a deadly weapon but crucially - it's coming through the post. I thought it was coming through DHL to be honest but either way I'm not authorised to bring such an item through the post and hence it was seized.

Then get back and ask for a copy of the regulations which cover "deadly weapons".

They're going to be busy so.

Lots of household articles could be a deadly weapon, must have been a slack day.

Sorry to open old thread but I see Heinnie Haynes have an option to get parcel tracked, do you think that would mean it is outside the post system and would not be classed illegal like your's was?
