Yeah absolute rocket by hoggie. You'd think it was the Barr's with 14 men....

    Fairly pitiful from the Barrs.

Hoggje showing how much of a class hurler he is, but we already knew that.

If we’re serious as a county about challenging for hurling titles I don’t know if sending Downey off is the way forward for reffing our club championships. The reality is in tipp or kk that’s not a red card. I’m not saying it’s right but we have to start producing hardened physical and winning hurlers again and what we have been doing hasn’t been working. We can have all the nice skilful hurlers in the world but we need warriors.

Very poor performance from the Barrs.....to lose by 14 points is bad but they had an extra man for the second half as well....are they really that bad? Are the Glen 14 points better than them? Makes one ask the question is all well in the camp?

12 footballers on that team, you can't hope to bate a proper hurling club like the Glen with that many dual players.

Given their hurling tradition they have become a bit of a joke over the last few decades. They have a nice U16 and minor side this yr but too early to know if its genuine return or just a once off. Ronan Curran walked over the dual issue last yr. Outside of DC + RC who is the last 'Barrs outfield player to start senior championship with Cork?

Examiner showing UCC v Imokilly at 6:45 this evening

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,363 ✭✭✭The White Feather

UCC have started very well in the first 10 mins

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

Great finish to the game, UCC looked like they ran out of steam in the second half, but the response to the Imokilly goal was impressive.

Good game though some great scores

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,995 ✭✭✭zetecescort

great response by UCC to a late Imokilly goal sees them through.

Is it just me or is this new format after producing a really exciting weekend of GAA ahead?

    Senior Prem:
    Group A
Sars through - chance of by to semi with big win over Ballyhea, Ballyhea could avoid relegation playoff with a win
Midleton v douglas - winner takes all
    Group B:
Blackrock v Bishopstown - same as above rockies big win high chance of semi final, bishopstown win all but grantees Senior Prem next year
Erins Own v Newtownshandrum - winner takes all
    Group C
Glen Rovers v Na Piarsaigh - winner tops group Glen have chance of semi with big win
St finbarrs v Carrigtwohill - bars win = avoid relegation risk; Carrigtwohill win with glen win = chance for Carrig to go through (scoring diff)

And that's just Senior Prem, every other grade is a similar story... As far as I can tell every team has something riding on their game this weekend be it avoiding relegation or getting into knockout stages...

New format is brilliant. In the intermediate last night every team had something to play for.
    The groups are so competitive

Courcey Rovers had lost both opening games but a big win last night saw them make the quarters on scoring differences
So they got through only winning one game while in another group Ballinhassig are out in scoring difference despite a win and a draw. Shows how quickly things can change

How does the relegation playoffs work when there are 3 groups? the 2 bottom teams based on points and scoring difference?

Can only a max of 2 teams come out of each group? Ballinhassig ended up with 3 points but finished third and Courcey Rovers got 2 points but came second

Premier Senior hurling lineup after tonight's results

    Blackrock v Douglas
    Sars v Erins Own
    UCC v Na Piarsaigh

    Semi finals:
    Glen v Sars/Erins Own
Blackrock or Douglas v UCC or Na Piarsaigh

    Relegation:
    Ballyhea v Bishopstown

Ladies football county final will be Mourneabbey v West Cork for the 3rd year in a row after both had massive wins in their semifinals

Yes the 2 lowest on points. If 3 are tied goes to scoring differences

Yes top 2 in each group.

Ballincollig and Ballinhassig were level on points but Ballincollig go thru with a better scoring difference

Examiner showing Cill na Matra v Knocknagree on Saturday

    Sunday
    Douglas v Nemo at 2
    O'Donovan Rossa v St Michaels at 4

  • Registered Users Posts: 382 ✭✭Innish_Rebel

Again this weekend I think every game has something riding on it.
Semi finalists from Nemo, Barrs & the Haven.
Almost guaranteed the relegation is 2 from Carrigaline, Bishopstown & Ilen Rovers

    Premier Senior Football
    Group A
    Barrs v Clon
Big win for Barrs could get semi final spot big loss for Barrs (11 points) needed for them to go out
Clon go through with win & Ballincollig loss or win by 11 or more points
    Ballincollig v Carrigaline
A win for Ballincollig should see them through (Unless Clon beat Barrs) - win by 5 or more guaranteed
Carrigaline need a win to try to avoid relegation playoff

    Group B
    Castlehaven v Ilen Rovers
Easy Castlehaven are through - big win could get semi final spot
Ilen need a win to try to avoid relegation P/O
    Newcestown v Carbery Rangers
Very simple Carbery Rangers have to win, Newcestown win or draw.

    Group C
    Nemo v Douglas
Big win for Nemo could get semi final spot big loss for Nemo (10/11 points) needed for them to go out
Douglas go through with win & Valley rovers loss or win by 10 or more points
    Valley Rovers v Bishopstown
A win for Valley Rovers should see them through (unless Douglas beat Nemo) - win by 11 or more guaranteed
Bishopstown need a win to try to avoid relegation playoff

    Sunday
    Douglas v Nemo at 2
    O'Donovan Rossa v St Michaels at 4

Cill na Matra destroyed Knocknagree. 7-11 to 0-13. Knocknagree outplayed and outclassed. C naM look like they have a great chance of winning out this.
