    Hi there

If one has to have a procedure and would not be driving for a few months,

Is it possible to "pause" cover on an insurance policy as is possible with car tax - declaring the car off the road?
To declare the car off the road for that specific time for tax and insurance or what is the best scenario to manage this?

I assume you'd still want to keep it covered for TPFT and just not fully comprehensive?

Yes it is. You post off the cert. and the disc to your insurance company and ask them to suspend cover. You'll need to keep the car off the public road to avoid getting a ticket for non-display and depending on who your policy is with, you may or may not be covered for fire and theft while normal cover is suspended. Go to their website, download the policy document and read it.
