Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Changing window after planning

    Hi guys,

    I had planning accepted with a window at the side of the house that I now want to remove and replace with a skylight (which wasn't in planning). Is this ok or would I have to reapply for planning with these changes? Thanks.

    What was the opinion of whoever submitted the planning ?

    I haven't asked him yet as tbh I don't trust the guy and I assume he will tell me it's not possible, as it means less work for him.

    Assuming this is a first floor window it may be a fire escape and therefore necessary.

    No it's a window on the ground floor to allow light in but I think a skylight might be better.

    Can you show a drawing?
    Generally a sky light on a ground floor extension to the rear would be exempt.
