That’d be locals from sweeneys pub..... pissed at the D15 influx. Great food in sweeneys last Saturday.

That pub would be long closed only for D15 people

Sweeney's wouldn't have many locals if they didn't want people coming in from the D15 side.

There is still improvement in areas on the first LEA figures announced but the latest figures I posted for 14 day incidence (up to the 28th) show disimprovement as compared to the rates up to 21st. I've the three posts with figures quoted in sequence below:

    First figures

Update with rates to Sept 21st

Update with rates to Sept 28th

Ongar has actually been getting progressively worse throughout, while the other two went down and have rebounded a bit.

    Not good news.

I did a quick average (I know it's not accurate as it should be weighted for population) and

    (1) 147
    (2) 123
    (3) 143

The average dipping and then going back up, next set will be crucial.

I wonder if Delhi Darbar Clonee closed their restaurant on moral grounds with the Dublin restrictions? Commendable if so.

If it was closed. Delhi darbar restaurant is opened for sit ins

Agreed, in fact (standard metric nationally aside) it would arguably make more sense, given the scales involved in each LEA, to quote in cases per 10k rather than per 100k. However, psychologically 16, 23 and 26 (rounded) per 10k wouldn't have the same effect on people IMO when you're trying to get people to modify their behaviours to prevent spread, whereas numbers in the hundreds (albeit actually the same measure on a different scale) has more shock value.

Equally, the contrast quoted against a basis of 10k would be perceived as a lot less stark, similar to the absolute numbers you posted.

And only half a brain. I hope the Guards removed that asap. I suppose it would be a bit much to suggest that people disseminating lies like that should be forcibly infected with Covid to see how they get on, would it?

Ongar now 2nd worst area in Dublin per 14 day average.
Anyone know where the high case numbers came from?

Its bizarre that the ongar area has such a high rate, I've not known a single person in D15 that's been tested positive.

Ongar does seem to go up just before anywhere else does, I wonder do we have a lot of nursing staff from Connelly hospital.
