Good. People on here were saying Sonia O'Sullivan was a bigger star.

Lets not be so dramatic lads it was a 40 minute boxing match of little consequence.

I actually enjoyed the boxing match with Floyd. Obviously it wasn't very competitive but I enjoyed the spectacle. Always love getting to see a master like Floyd at his craft and sure it was something different.

It was like organising a 100m race between Marty Morrissey and Usain Bolt.

Not really, that would be a lot shorter. If Mayweather knocked him out in the first 10 seconds it might be somewhat valid.

I'm talking about relative skill at boxing, not duration.

Fight was fairly competitive. McGregor did ok, didn't embarrass himself. He was never going to win but took his TKO (and 100m quid!) like a man against maybe the greatest boxer of all time.

It's not skill really that Bolt has over Morrissey, it's gigantic physical advantages.

That's true but the analogy was made to show the gulf of the mismatch, not an attribute comparison.

Lads there's only one was to settle this. Someone has to kill Bono so we can count how many people go to his funeral.

I think Bono plays badminton, therefore would that get him into the argument of Ireland's best known sports celebrity?

Himself and McGregor took silver and gold in the last Sh*te Talking Olympics.

In fairness Bono never knocked up a skank when playing an away match, even though he was never afraid to travel for some game.

At no point did Floyd take that fight seriously.

completely. he did not bother to fight like he would against an actual boxer with his trademark shell defensive posture.

it was effectively a fixed fight where Mayweather could choose how it was going to play out.

I'm no expert however I believe Mayweather carried him through the fight.

I think so too but he was a bit wary of McG for the first few rounds.

Course he did. At anytime in that fight Mayweather could have opened up and destroyed him. Total no contest. He let it go a few rounds for a bit of entertainment. That's it.

Would've been a very dangerous punch if Mayweather left himself open like this to a an actual boxer.

They made me and a lot of boxing fans a lot of money by backing McGregor. Bless them.

I assume you mean Mayweather there. I'm a McGregor fan and I knew people who were betting money on McGregor to win. I couldn't understand it at all. He was only 3/1 or 4/1 and people thought they were great odds when realistically he only had a slim chance of winning it. It was crazy stuff.

There’s no disputing it in my opinion that he’s the most famous Irish sports star but “the most famous” doesn’t necessarily mean the most talented, supported or even liked.
I’d say in the last year alone he as racked up more negative headlines than positive.
In other words, he’s a gobshlte.

People said the same about Roy Keane. Its only that time has passed that peoples opinions have softened. See also Alex Higgins. McGregor will be the same. Assuming these allegations aren't true.

Roy Keane was passionate and fiery on the pitch, I can accept and understand that. McGregor is a thug both inside and outside the ring in my view, irrespective of recent allegations. Don’t know the other bloke.
