Irish TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) Clinics?

Just wondering does anyone know or recommend an Irish TRT Clinic?

45yo dealing with mild depression and anxiety and chronic lack of motivation and fatigue for the last 10 years or so and downstairs doesn't work as well as it used to. Been chasing the cause for the last decade and at this stage most of the usual culprits have been checked for and most Bloods results are normal and always have been except Blood Sugar and Cholesterol needing an eye kept on them.

Came across TRT videos on youtube and it sure as hell sounds like me. So it was me that asked for a Testosterone test a few weeks ago. Haven't been back to GP since but his text about the blood results did not comment on the T. Called up for a print out and it turns out the 9am blood draw (highest T levels are at this time) showed a Total T of 350mmol/l which is low/normal. Obviously why GP didn't comment on it. My research indicates that I should have gotten a much more comprehensive panel done testing SHBG, Estrodiol, LH, FSH Total T and Free T etc. I could have low/normal T but very low Free T because of too much SHBG or a Pituitary issue meaning less LH and FSH being secreted and thus my testes not being told to produce enough testosterone etc.

I'm pretty sure I'll be wasting my time talking to my GP about this and it'll just be another €100 down the drain for another consult and test before he sends me to an Endo anyway who will also charge a large consult fee and order more blood tests and even then, if my levels are still in the 350 range (The commonly used 'Normal' range of 250-1000 covers males from 15-95 years old FFS!! My 350 number is the average T of an 80 year old Man!!), because frontline general practice just use the overal 'Normal' range instead of 'Normal for your age group' I'm likely to be told that they won't prescribe TRT so to have any hope I'll end up in a TRT Clinic anyway.

I'm thinking the cheapest option might actually be to go straight to a TRT clinic and cut out the middle men. Hence my question about TRT Clinics.

Anyone any experience of being diagnosed with Low Testosterone and getting treatment in Ireland?

I am also interested in this so will be watching the thread closely.

Have you tried increasing your T levels naturally through supplementation and exercise. Specific exercises like heavy dead lifts and squats are proven to increase T levels. https://www.livestrong.com/article/457147-hormonal-effects-of-heavy-deadlifting/

Have you tried ZMA tablets? (I do light / moderate excercise and have a good diet).
I've been taking them for 3-4 months and find they're quite good.
I've noticed i'm sleeping better too.

A friend of mine went to the Fitzwilliam private clinic and was prescribed gel. You are correct about the GP, no use.
They will want to rule out every other little thing that could possibly be wrong with you before they even consider talking about testosterone. Cut out the middle man.

I'll try get more info for you regarding the expense of it as I'm not sure.

You can buy that gel online, cut out the clinic costs.

I've been using an online clinic the past 4 years, i order it myself online from a company called trt-ireland.. I've saved hundreds a year by doing it myself. I just get check ups every 6 months and the doc's aware, he still tries to steer me clear every consultation but he cannot fault my bloods so it's not gonna happen, the benefits completely outweigh the potential side effects. Its probably that the doc isn't getting commission from the pharma companies as he's not prescribing it to me as apparently my levels weren't low enough!! No more mood swings, i stopped gaining as much bodyfat around problem areas and i have a more muscular frame, i feel athletic and libido is incredible, my wife has never been happier with me in years either. To anyone thinking or feeling they are low in testosterone just get a full panel blood test result from the doc including free and total testosterone levels and if the doctor shoots you down, just go off and research online and have a think about giving it a go yourself. Your levels need to be practically zilch before a doctor here will consider giving you T .. which is why i researched online and brought these results to the online clinic and they take care of me now. Practically everyone over 50 in the US is on T and it's getting more common in the UK now, it's probably going to take another 10 years before Ireland catches on as usual. If anyone has questions would be happy to help

Following for interest sake. Mid 30s but had a traumatic brain injury in my mid 20s and since then my metabolism and energy levels have been non-existent. Doctor only interested in treating a very mild case of hypothyroidism (never been on more than 50mg eltroxin daily in 8+ years despite monitoring every two months).

I'd asked about T screening and was dismissed as unimportant.

Ive been self administrating for over two years. Takes a while to dial in, particularly your e2. I find 120mg a week, split over two doses, and only take an ai if I feel e2 climbing. Unfortunately we can't get proper blood work here in Ireland. We are years and years behind. Superb online resources though, happy to answer any questions. Male 39

I have tried both subcutaneous pinning (Insulin needle into belly fat, or delt muscle on upper arm), and IM injection (glute muscle) I prefer IM and I do that.
These comments are my personal expereince, not instruction or anyway to be seen as medical advice.

    Thanks Stuxnet, this is helpful.

I'm in a similar boat, never had any luck with Irish GPs despite genuine hypoganism, and have been self-administering for the past seven years or so. However, I've decided it would be wise to revisit this. I was looking up the Fitzwilliam clinic as it is the only Irish Clinic I could find which deals with this stuff, but found out it's been closed down for a few months unfortunately.

Wasting your time trying to get full blood work and proper TRT treatment in the Republic, you will have to drive this yourself. It is your health and wellbeing. You can use your GP's blood phlebotomy services, I can vouch for using medi-checks UK blood test, they will send you vials by post. Get your GP to draw blood into the vials, and mail back to them

TRT Check includes all the test you require for an initial idea of what your numbers look like

I wouldn’t use the self-finger prick, kit they provide, I had self-drawn blood this method returned to me as it clotted and was un-testable, but they did send me out a free new kit…… get the blood drawn professionally into your test vials :)

For those self medicating with testosterone, what are you taking to combat side effects? Gyno etc...

I have used TRT Check by Medichecks in the UK in the past also. For £120 you get the TRT Check Plus (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) Blood Test and it is a 43 point test. I still prefer to get mine done with the GP because i'm very uncomfortable with taking blood from a vein, it's totally different than an intramuscular injection, IM is very easy for anyone to get comfortable with. I just ask the GP for a full panel blood test and a full print out of the results and i interpret them myself and if there's anything off he will notify me.

I highly recommend you do a quick google search for the page and you'll find a lot of useful info what you should be doing to monitor your health while on TRT, as with the blog on the trt-ireland.com page to at least know what you're getting yourself into and see if its worth it for you. For me, the weekly injections have greatly improved my life after suffering with low testosterone for years.

Someone mentioned what are the side effects and what to take to prevent Gyno etc.., the answer is if you are having side effects like this then you're taking too much testostosterone, trust me. Anything within normal ranges will not cause you any side effects like this, only possibly side effect is a slight increase in estrogen which if you take Exemestane or Tamoxifen this will eliminate, and overtime if your dosage you are taking is too high you need to keep an eye out for Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), to combat this just reduce the dosage and the enlarged prostate feeling goes after a month (from personal experience)
Again what i say is just from personal experience i do not offer medical advice or condone self administering TRT, i am simply sharing my experience with others for educational purposes.

    Hi,

I have a medical condition called Klienfelter's syndrome and I don't produce Any Testosterone! Which, giving that I am a male is a problem.
My Dr has me on a prescription called "Testogel" which is 50mg of testosterone in a gel form. Which is rubbed into the legs or arms each day. There is also an injection form, that can be administrated every week. Ask your Dr about it.
    Hope this helps

I tried downloading the order form and it requested a password. What do I have to do to get around this?

    Hi lads.

I was diagnosed with primary hypogonadism a number of years back. Went through the whole rigmarole of gp's, multiple consultants, tests, bloodwork, etc. before eventually going for treatment through a UK clinic.

Essentially the knowledge and expertise of how to deal with low testosterone is just not there in this country at the moment. The last consultant I had seen in relation to it pretty much told me this is as many words. Because of the research I had to do on the subject myself, he said I probably knew more about it than anyone I would see or that would treat me medically.

So rather than keep throwing good money after bad, I bit the bullet and went to the UK.
I am now on treatment that has me taking test. sub. cut & HCG and feel much better than I have done in a long time.

Because of the change in doctor, I also have a number of boxes of Nebido left over, if there is anyone on here that uses it?
All boxes completely sealed and unopened, direct form the chemist.

If the UK is the place to go, would there be any docs or clinics in the North that anyone could recommend?

Has anyone been to this clinic before? I called them and although the website says it's located in Kildare, the woman on the phone said that they've now moved to Bray. I want to book an appointment with them but just wondering if anyone else has been before.
