    Hi All,

Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction?

I would be interested in looking into making diaries to sell as a hobby.

I've the idea of what way the diary would work but I'm at a lost on things like printers and where to actually buy in bulk blank A5 Diaries.

Would it be cheaper to have a 3rd party print them out? If so any recommendations on this?

Its really not clear what you are trying to do? What input will you have in 'making' the diaries? How does buying bulk A5 diaries work with this? It is very unlikely that getting them printed yourself would be cheaper than buying basic diaries, unless you want specific design or layout on the pages.

How will you sell them, what kind of quantities would you envisage? You really have to do a massive promotion around Christmas to sell next year's diaries, once January is passed then any that you have not sold are so much recycling.

    Hi Look see,

I would be looking at selling them to my clients whonare intrested. They would be fitness based so I would need to use my templates I have made so the diary wouldn't just have days and dates but also pages needed for "calories, meals, water intake" etc

I am personal trainer for a few years with up to 100 clients per week (Alot of semi private classes) and over the years I found that 90% of my clients preferred to track information using a journal of some sort over their phone.

I also sent out a survey to 50 woman all looking to make progress in the gym. 43 of them said they would prefer a physical diary rather than an electric one which have me the idea to start doing them on the side as a hobby while continuing to work full time. Also 30 said that they would prefer an A5 instead of an A4 (haven't decided which one yet)

It sounds like you have a good idea. I would always prefer keeping a paper journal than anything on my phone. It’s much easier to refer to.

I was wondering would a printer that helps people self publish be more what you are looking for? I have no idea what costs would be but maybe somewhere like this would work?

There are lots of others if you google around.
