    Quick question.
Do Insurers still charge a higher premium to cover a Japanese Import ?
Prius Gen 3 (2015) is my main concern.

I'd check first for a quote, I think of that era they became fitted with immobilizers, this was the big problem with them some years back as they could be robbed with limited skills. There may be some loading because some parts may need to be sourced from Japan in the event of a crash, very few nowadays though are not the same.

Jap imports were tinged for modified cars loop hole but the Prius & other hybrids were never a real issue to insure. Ex-staff experience.

    If you can get the
-VIN/Chassis # then Axa & a few brokers can have their underwriters check the car factory spec
-submit the advert for the car including the photos then it shows that you are genuinely interested in owning car.
A lot of people jumping on the buy-sell market and insurance company’s don’t wanna get caught supplying short-term cover when brokers could sell motortrade cover.

Let us know how ya get on
