Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    A good while back(years :D). I picked up a new in box 13" wells gardener monitor off a member here.
    Decided to scale down a pacman cabinet to fit it.
    Here where i am so far.I need to get the glass before I can go any further.
    Original pacman coin door.Also some nice details like the caster and power connector.
    Going to have a go at bending a control panel out of sheet metal ......If not i'll go with wood.The control panel will clamp the glass but I haven't figured that out yet!

    Great work, look forward to this coming together.
    Speed Up hack for Ms Pac man is my preferred Pac Man game.
    EDIT Dip switches on the 60-in-1 enable it :)

    Hi, what wood are you using there? I know you dont like MDF from previous posts.

    Birch ply, I used 15mm for this but you can get it in bigger sizes.
    Hope to get paint on this before the artwork comes in next week.

    Cool., does paint spray onto that well ? I used mdf in a cab before and found that grand for spraying but over the years the cab is gone a bit wobbly. I probably should have braced it with a piece of wood inside.

    Invest in a pocket hole jig and you won't regret it.
    Kregg are the goto brand but I bought a Chinese "knock off" brand.
    Oh it paints beautifully, you can even fill it with isopon.
    I fooked up the tmolding slot and isoponed it and recut the next day.
    Sanding before paint is key though.
    Carpentry store just off the n7 is where I buy my stuff.they cater for the hobbyist and are really helpful. Woodies etc are so overpriced.

    Never heard of a pocket hole Jig before but just had a look and it looks deadly for making stuff. Ill check out that store too, i was actually going to go to B&Q tomorrow and get some stuff but i might hold off. Thanks

    I'd recommend a jig with a built in clamp,mine doesn't and it really slows down the work.
    100 kregg screws are 6/7 quid and you use this chart to figure out the right screw length for your material thickness!
    Get the fine thread screws.

    2 base coats with sanding in between.
    Ready to lay down another two coats of yellow tomorrow /Sunday.
    The polyurethane paint is great stuff but harsh as fook because its basicly plastic.

    Getting some where now.
    Woodwok was quicker than the paint job.....
    Just waiting on the artwork now.
    Might crack on with the wiring if I find the motivation!

    Was so close to finishing this,just needed art.

    I had all the wiring done and the monitor looking chrisp after capping it.
    Had left it on for a few hours hear and there since the weekend.
    came into a room FULL of stinking black smoke.
    The lopt had a meltdown and blown a hole out its side..........
    new lopt on order,could be 3 weeks before I get it.

    Art arrived from Ollie today.
    Its insanely good quality,it took a month though so not quick.
    wasn't cheap either but it was worth it.
    Going to fit it this evening.
    The monitor is still borked unfortunately

    Cabinet and wiring 100% finished .

    Just the monitor to be done now.
    Quite happy with it,
    I should of made a metal CP ,I also made a slight mistake with the CPO.The start game is a bit too high but its done now.
    Massive amount of work in this.

    Its got a 4 way leaf stick and the two buttons are sanwa.
