Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.
Thanks all.

    Hi All,

I've setup a site for businesses who want to backup their Office365 emails and data, its at https://www.office365backup.ie.

A lot of people mistakenly think Microsoft is providing a backup solution autocratically because Office 365 data is 'in the cloud'.

Let me know what you think of the design (It's mainly a landing page at the moment).

    Appreciate the feedback.

    S.

If I used Office 365, my first concern about this service would be backing up business data to a site that could potentially be taken down as a result of a trademark infringement.

Apart from the trademark issues, for this kind of service you need to be giving off a lot of high quality trust signals (through design, branding, etc). What you have isn't terrible, but it could be better. For example, more information about who you are, where the data is stored, security, etc.

Good points Trojan. We plan on populating the site a lot more with useful information. In terms of backing up the data, we're a re-seller for a well known/widely used 3rd party who don't sell direct to business but instead to IT partners/resellers (This information would be available to clients during discussions leading up to a sale).

We're also a Microsoft Silver partner. I suppose if Microsoft had an issue with the name we could always re-brand but we wanted the name to "do what it says on the tin". The data wouldn't be affected as its stored with the 3rd part solutions provider.
