How will you be spending it?

Will you be chasing a jambon down a very steep hill in Mayo, like that thing in Wales with the massive bit of cheese? Will you go to Laois and visit the birth place of Marcel Labette, the man who devised the idea of taking everything great about ham and cheese sandwiches and throwing pastry into the mix literally?

I've just driven past Centra and seen queues a mile long. I roll down the window.

"Must be selling Boyzone tickets in there Rory are they!?"

"No James," he goes. "They're selling jambons."

"Ah makes sense, the day that's in it."

    "Yup."

Maybe they were selling tickets to Jambon Jovi?

Do people actually buy and eat jambons? I feel like I always see them sitting at the bottom of the deli counter slowly coagulating but never actually moving.

I had one once. They’re disgusting. The cheese is questionable and molten. But they’re a crappy deli item so I suppose I wasn’t expecting much. I’d imagine a homemade jambon is a damn fine thing but who’d bother making one?

We'd all be dead in that case Mr Cliggg. I do like jambons - love the c*nts actually - but you wouldn't want to be eating them on a daily basis.

    Jambons or tampons?

I (semi-intentionally) read that as National Jameson Day.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

Mini-jambons are all the rage now - €2 for 4 little puffs of heavenly beauty.

In truth, the jambon held the standard for a long time - But the clonakilty black puddin' sausage roll has taken over as the king of the deli counter.

If you don't know, now you know.

But you couldnt ate three or four of those, with jambons, no bother.

But now I'll spend the day wondering if i could, not if i should

Let's save that discussion until March 2 for obvious reasons.

True, they also need a shot of sauce to keep the mouth right too tbf. Needing ancillaries is never good,

We really need to get those little squeezy ketchups like they have in Australia for decorating pies, less fumblin + a more accurate sauce delivery:

Dont be looking through your monocle down your pointy nose at us jambon munching peasants, in our hi-viz vests and 4×4s double parked on footpaths.
