Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Maybe just as well ;) What was wicket like today? We seemed to have more success with spinners even though hit for a good few runs. Which also of course means that our lads would have been in a spot of bother.

    256-8. Amazing how we routinely concede 100 runs in the last 10 overs.
    Death bowling is just dreadful.

    Their number 7 makes a run a ball 100. Just not good enough.

    Yep from 74/5 to 256/8 is just not at the races. Yer man deserved his century but he sure rode his luck and we gave him plenty of slack.

    Up against it here now, that's for sure. Will we show a bit of patience or just lash out and collapse? Most likely, losing either way.

    Yeah, it's weird. Is it that there is no local interest at all or is entry restricted? Something to do with ongoing conflict? Has the look of a technical or contrived fixture/ series.

    Fine looking ground with backdrop of forested hills etc

    Re Irish performances though, obviously these are not normal conditions for us but you'd wonder who's making on field decisions. If it's Porterfield, maybe it's time to give someone else a go at the captaincy?

    It's Afghanistan's home ground but located in northern India so not sure how many locals are passionate enough to support another country's team.

    Also, it's difficult for lower paid workers to get time off during the week so attendances would be low then.

    But it's where they will be playing all their home games so interest will increase over time I'm sure.

    Time to get rid of Porterfield! Walking wicket for Mujeeb. Hasn't a clue how to play him despite playing him god knows how many times. That must be 10/12 times he's got him. Ave of 19 in 22 games against Afghanistan. Terrible from an opener. Just hasn't a clue against spin!



    Singh a 4 is an absolute joke.


    Selectors and coaches should all be sacked. No improvement in the batting despite playing Afghanistan 8/9 times a year. Every time a spinner comes on it's rabbits in headlights. Surely if the coaches were worth theor pay they'd be able to coach some sort of technique to help?


    The wrong team is constantly selected. Why was McCarthy dropped? Afghanistan play spin very well, why play FOUR spinners! Especially as none are exactly wicket takers


    At 90/5 the game was there but couldn't buy a wicket and then as per usual smashed about at the death. Again do the coaches actually coach death bowling?


    This team has turned into a complete mess.


    Time to start digging for Granny rule passport players.
