Apologies haven't checked back to this thread in a day or so, I usually post my own photos but that was one I came across on Twitter as was well impressed so posted it here, haven't played Lahinch in a year or so and from memory I think I paid something like a ton to play both the same day, I was on my own so was placed out with 3 Yanks

What hole is it? I can see myself enjoying sitting on the dune watching them play in at the Irish Open

Pretty sure it’s the par 3 11th taking the picture from one of the 12th tee boxes

That middle picture is class, that's (11th I think) likely one of the best par 4s on the island. You'd be delighted to hold the fairway then have to hit a long second to reach the green and pray you can hold it as the collection area to the right is dense and a lot further below the green that the picture makes out, miss to the left and the ball can roll a mile away, and pray if you stop at the back of the green with the putt now facing you.....pure bliss

Yep on the money. Love how different the hole looks/plays from the blues. Cracker from both tees

Theres actually loads of room to the right but you leave your second longer. Theres another water hazard behind the bunker you can see aswell so long isn't a good idea.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,289 ✭✭✭dar_cool

Its a decent carry aswell probably 170/180 just to clear the water. Cracking hole with a decent tee shot probably 160/170 left up hill

Staying up in Enniscrone for the week with the family. Course really is stunning. Took this picture from on top of one of the 3 story dunes. Playing it properly on Thursday in the weekly open. Can't wait

Ah the 16th, sure you can go for it with your second but pray you hold the green as it's massive and your picture caught the run offs quite well.
    Enjoy the round!

That picture is the par 4 15th though isn't it?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,678 Mod ✭✭✭✭slave1

Thought it was the 16th, followed by par 3 17th and straight back par 4 18th.
Could well be wrong though, just thinking back from memory

Looks similar alright but that is the index 1 15th. Two great holes which are very tight off the tee

Gosh I feckin love that course: haven't been there in a few years though. I think it's let down a small bit by the 18th: it's definitely not a bad hole but not anywhere near as picturesque as the preceding 17 holes. 10th and 12th are my favourites. I'm due a trip there when all this sh1t is over...
