Looking for some local advice. I see there is a swimming area on the Barrow in Graignamangh with diving boards. Is it possible to swim say for 20 minutes in either direction? Although preferably upriver to have a bit of help on the way back.

Is there enough water? Enough room? Fairly clear (not too many rushes or reeds) Safe?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I'm originally from a few miles away and from memory people normally swim across the river where the diving boards are.

There is an active rowing club situated near there also so if you're planning on heading up the river best to check with the locals when best to go or whether there is a better spot further upstream.

    Enjoy the holidays!
