Apologies if this is a stupid question and/or wildly inappropriate forum...
Long time rubbish guitarist I've been using belatedly discovered internet resources + lockdown to sort of learn some songs.
Next step is to play along to them. I have guitar, headphone amp, usb cable and more gizmo's than you can shake a stake at.
But I haven't figured out how to listen to guitar input + youtube at same time.
I've being going down rabbit holes into virtual guitar amplifiers - surely it can't be that complicated?
    Any pointers appreciated.

    You've two main options:

    1) Buy a small mixer with a monitor out - connect both your PC via aux out and your headphone amp to it, and plug your headphones into the monitor output. This would be best if you have your amp and effects loop spot on and don't want to mess about too much.

    2) Buy a USB interface for the PC and then use software for monitor out, headphones then go into PC. This is a bit more versatile because you can use usb headphones, do direct recording, and use software effects if you want. I do this with a Scarlett 2i4 (although you can get a scarlett solo on ebay which is previous gen and just as good). If you get one of these it usually comes with Ableton or software for it, and probably no harm to know how to use it.
