Loving this thread, lads. I love Brian Kerr. He's been disgracefully underutilised by the FAI.

Is rehearsing a bad thing now?

Isn't that another way of saying prepared?

If I could thank this 450 million times I would.

How Ronnie Whelan has lasted this long is beyond me. Ditto for Houghton and Beglin.

Well i'm sure he does read some of it. No doubt he comes to the mic with notes that he's researched. It what's the actual commentators do as well, read stats and facts from notes they've written down. It's what they've always done.

No doubt he does but hes also a mine of information about lesser known players because hes seen them at under age level. I'd say he watches an insane amount of football (as Arsene Wenger was reported to do).

Oh absolutely, i'm not doubting it whatsoever. I'm a St Pat's fan and i've been lucky enough to stand beside him at some Pat's game and get his wisdom at certain incidents in the game. How he is during commentary is just naturally him.

I find that he is on a different level in terms of detail. It doesn't add to my enjoyment of the analysis, but each to their own.

He has the pedigree of being the most successful youth coach in the country yet is not coaching youths, its a tragedy but sadly not untypical of the blazers in the FAI fiefdom.

Does he want to be back coaching youths at this stage in his life though?

Maybe he's happy enough just doing his bit of media work and after dinner speeches.

He should be involved in some capacity and I'd say he would love to have a role but that's never going to happen when you have JD around.
FAI is a joke operation and that won't change anytime soon.

Reminds me a bit like how Eoin Hand has been treated.
Some people are treated like shyte and others are fawned over.
The ultimate insult was being told he was being replaced by someone world class and it turned out to be Staunton.
