Cooker extractor ducting route

    Hi there, I'm looking for some advice regarding ducting for our extractor fan. The extractor was originally put in where it is not on a boundary wall so I have to find a suitable ducting method for extraction.
    We don't want recirculation as the condensation will be too much. There was a flexible duct put in previously and it is terrible and fills with condensation from time to time.
    I want to ideally bring it up into the adjoining garage attic space and out through the wall. In total this is a 3 meter distance with 2 x 90 degree bends and one 45 degree at initial point of connection from the hood to the pipe.
    I will use 150mm round solid ducting with a semi rigid piece for initial connection to hood.

    My query is would this work or would I have to come straight out through the utility wall without going up into the attic space. I'm afraid the 90 degree bends introduced with a small rise to go up to the attic space may be too much?

    As above, whats the issue with the utility wall.

    You are right, two 90s and a 45 and 3m will need a bigger fan

    The simple rule of ducting a domestic cooker hood is the shortest must direct route.
    What is the air output figure of the cooker hood you’re proposing to use?
    With the route your proposing you should use rigid 5 inch ducting and perhaps add a inline booster fan or a fan in the outlet wall grill.

    @Calahonda52 Just that I will need to box out the duct if I go straight out through the utility where as if I went up into the garage attic space I wouldn't have to. Thanks for the reply.

    Just rechecked the connection at the top of the hood and it's 120mm so will need 5 inch duct. The fan has 2 x 120W motors, i'll need to go the straight duct route. Thanks for the advice.
