The art is in using wiggle words... "More Likely"... "Could be"... "Increased Chance"... and so on.
It's creative writing at it's best and in general difficult to disprove the accuracy as there is no accurate prediction.
I have an increased chance of winning he lotto as I played two lines instead of one.
I'm more likely of winning he lotto as I played two lines instead of one.
I could be a the lotto winner as I played two lines instead of one.

The sentences above are correct whether I win the lotto or not, whether I get no numbers correct or some correct.

Climate science is full of cronies, which you'd expect given the status symbol, lack of accountability and money involved. It happens with any field that gets such publicity and funding. There are folks in there doing some exceptional work, but they don't sale enough papers or draw enough clicks.

Instead we get horse manure like this
We’re getting ever closer to unsurvivable heatwaves in heavily populated parts of the world

What happens when 5 million people die suddenly in a week when WB temps go above 37c and the power grid fails

That’s a genuine question by the way

Millions of people, women, men, children, dying suddenly in a short space of time because their bodies cannot cool down because the air is warmer than their skin. Power grids aren’t designed to take that A/C load, so there will be brownouts and failures. Not only poor people die, but people who thought they had prepared and mitigated for such events are killed too

It might start as a once off ‘extreme’ event

But what happens when it happens again and millions more die

Suddenly the cost of geoengineering seems small compared to millions of innocent people dropping dead in a horrific slow motion car crash

Whether based on a 'study' or not, the claim that evaporation in the Barents sea increased snow amounts over northern Europe is totally false, or at best, totally misleading. Much of the snow was 'lake effect' over the Baltic/North Sea & Irish Sea regions, while the moisture tapped into to fuel 'Storm Emma' was Atlantic sourced. These people are just making stuff up and stamping the word 'science' onto it to give it credibility (and good for ensuring further ample funding of tax payers money also) But the main gist of these piece is to now link the potential for increased snowfall in Europe to global warming / climate change.

But she doesn't even quote the source of the study. Normally you'd hear "Scientists from X University or Y Institute..." but nothing here. It's from the Banana Republic school of science; "Do your own research"

Politicians jockeying to see who's most woke! LOLs.

While they appear to be the jesters on the world stage in that article, the joke is firmly to be gotten by the ordinary Joe and Jane who will have to pay exorbitant taxes to fund this utter folly.

But, the worst part of it all is - even with half of the measures taken they will claim success as the Earth naturally enters another cooling stage of climate cycle.

The ordinary man and woman on the street will be pulverised while the big shots continue to jet about and collect their massive profits.

If there was more ice in the arctic, and colder air masses, then we would just get cold and snow from that instead of this postulated connection, which, even if it were true, just represents the outcome being sought anyway.

Maybe the lesson is that the atmosphere has different ways of handling the stresses caused by increased greenhouse gases, and the outcome is not just linear as I think the first generation of climate change scientists were assuming with their runaway warming, end of winter as we knew it.

I do get the feeling there's an effort to make continuous adjustments from the starting point of "climate change bad, causes bad things to happen," which in itself is not scientific, why couldn't climate change be a good thing?

But Mr. Koonin is no “climate denier,” to use the concocted phrase used to shut down debate. The word “denier” is of course meant to associate skeptics of climate alarmism with Holocaust deniers. Mr. Koonin finds this label particularly abhorrent, since “the Nazis killed more than two hundred of my relatives in Eastern Europe.” As for “denying,” Mr. Koonin makes it clear, on the book’s first page, that “it’s true that the globe is warming, and that humans are exerting a warming influence upon it.”

The heart of the science debate, however, isn’t about whether the globe is warmer or whether humanity contributed. The important questions are about the magnitude of civilization’s contribution and the speed of changes; and, derivatively, about the urgency and scale of governmental response. Mr. Koonin thinks most readers will be surprised at what the data show.

Pretty much what MTC was alluding to before.
When it comes to the vaunted computer models, Mr. Koonin is persuasively skeptical. It’s a big problem, he says, when models can’t retroactively “predict” events that have already happened. And he notes that some of the “tuning” done to models so that they work better amounts to “cooking the books.” He should know, having written one of the first textbooks on using computers to model physics phenomena

This is fairly devastating news for the Green lobby, it collapses much of their narrative. Good to see some proper balance enter the debate.

In a similar vein this long article by Matthew Crawford highlights many of the issues that have led to the rise of scientism, the cartels that support it and the reaction against it.
“Following the science” to minimise certain risks while ignoring others absolves us of exercising our own judgment, anchored in some sense of what makes life worthwhile. It also relieves us of the existential challenge of throwing ourselves into an uncertain world with hope and confidence. A society incapable of affirming life and accepting death will be populated by the walking dead, adherents of a cult of the demi-life who clamour for ever more guidance from experts.

It has been said, a people gets the government it deserves.

The key phrase is "depending on the model and assumptions". In other words it's speculation using computer models with the usual junk science suspect: RCP 8.5

RCP 8.5 was derived at a time when the predominant source of energy worldwide was coal. The world has moved on and is less reliant on coal mainly because burning it is horrendously inefficient. But we haven’t yet seen the end of advocates for the burning of dinosaurs and fish to so does RCP 8.5 seem like it’s going to happen, no but who knows certainly not “merchants” like yourself PA ElGrande.

You may want to check out the coal numbers again. The largest consumers in the world are not changing their tune.. Said government also cut solar subsidies as it was making electricity too expensive, they also working away on nuclear power.

Getting reliable numbers for energy returned on investment (EROI) is quite difficult as there is not one standard to calculate it, for instance with random energy sources like wind and solar you have to factor in standby power.

Here is some more background outlining how RCP 8.5, the "business as usual scenario" is being abused to create scary headlines.

The first link you posted was from 2018. Things have changed since then. There is no money in fossil fuels.

The second link was extracted from a climate change deniers ravings.

The YouTube link clip from a guy, John Robson and his company nexus is in the pocket of big oil.

There's really no point in discussing these things online, you'll never change people's minds and there are quack scientists out there that can be referenced for any viewpoint these days. The prevailing science seems to be that man made climate change is real, I guess we'll find out in the coming decades.

    . . . . There is no money in fossil fuels. . . . .

No money you say . . . Tell that to this guy.

40% of Europe's gas comes from Russia. Without gas, coal and nuclear (via interconnect), Ireland's electricity grid can no longer be subsidised or function reliably with random energy generation.

Have you looked at the raw material requirements to build the new electric powered economy within the 30 year timeline proposed? We’re looking at billions of tons of metals and minerals, trillions of tons of ores, and mines, processing plants and factories all over the world.

Net Zero means we are paying for the destruction of our economy and society in pursuit of an unachievable and pointless policy.

I poo-pooed it for a very good reason; it was wrong, unless you think a dose of radiation equivalent to eating 60 bananas a year is dangerous. Have a read back in case you missed it.

Did they find any Radium in public drinking water in your latest link (at least you posted one this time)? Nope.

And if thats not enough for you this guy Tony Hellar real name Steven Goddard claims that NASA is manipulating the data and he thanks to the Australian senator Malcom Roberts for his efforts in exposing the fraud. Well lets just listen to Malcolm Roberts debate the physicist Brian Cox on the issue,

Tony Heller shows the data, and the data shows that climate alarmists have been manipulating it in their own publications. It is so blatantly obvious based on what he shows, that one would have to be wilfully ignorant to deny the data manipulations.
