A preview of the match using SreetFighter2 characters:
Ireland have picked a side to play as Zangief and Japan are more Ryu than E.Honda.

Expect many’s a deadly driver from Zangief at the Lineout. Followed by lots of flying body attacks. There will of course be a few iron CLAWS thrown in for good measure.
Ryu will try and escape the Claws of Zangief early and often by employing numerous Hadouken’s and then try for the perfect early KO blow with a couple of Shoryukens.
If Zangief’s defense can deflect Ryu’s initial barrage he will untimely pulverise him over 80mins.

    ^^ Brilliant post, ionadnapokot!

Does anyone know which combination to press to active James Ryan's finishing move in Street Fighter 2020: Only The Good Lose Young ?

That gave me a good laugh.

Expect us to suffocate them tomorrow. We will look to build a score through the set piece and then look to go wide later in the game.

Get through this and then turn the full glaze onto South Africa.

According to the forecast 28C, dry and with little wind. I'm in Tokyo and those were similar conditions here today and it was pleasant.

I'm going to say Ireland will cover the spread. But it won't be a try fest.

I think Japan will struggle, they rely on fast ball from the ruck through their 9, I don't think they'll get it against Ireland and they'll struggle with our line speed too. They don't have an exit strategy that works, as seen against Russia. But as this is our last 'competitive' game, I think players will be trying to stick to Joe's game plan as much as possible to try cement their starting spot for the knockouts.

I don't think the humidity is too bad actually. Not as humid as it was in Yokohama (before the heavens opened). By kickoff it's looking like 26/27C with about 55/60% humidity. I think those conditions will be ideal and shouldn't pose any issues. I myself have acclimatised to the humidity (I've been here 3 weeks.....but have to go home Sunday 😭). When I arrived at 9.30 at night 3 weeks ago it was still 32C with 90% humidity - that was really tough. I'm sure the players will have started getting used to it too and as I've said it's definitely not as humid or oppressive now (and no I don't work for Met Eireann 😛)

3:15 am kick-off for me in NYC

    Irish bars, anyone?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,009 ✭✭✭joseywhales

I'll be itving it in Portland Maine, cupla cans maybe. There is zero chance of a pub showing it here at that time, maybe NYC if you are very lucky

If Conan in a moon boot its possible he does have a break.

Not confirmation of that, but suggests it's potentially more than bruising.

Hopefully just precautionary. Doesn’t look great though

My favourite thing about Ryan's score against Scotland is that in an effort to get as low as possible he actually headbutts the ground.

Not the initial poster but it's really grating and noticible.

It sounds very unprofessional the way he goes through the teams. So monotone.

I don't mind Jamie's analysis but I had to mute the team run through. Perhaps I'm just sensitive this morning.

He's much better talking normally, like he is now talking about the second rowers.
