Texoil dropped prices by 60euro for 1000 litres since friday. Was 640 now 580 in Galway
It's going to be cheaper in 2-3 weeks as crude oil dropped 23% on todays markets

Nice, I had been hoping for a drop as we are about a month away from a fill.

Had a look at their website there. 1,000L is €595 in Dublin, Cork but €580 in the western counties.

its also €5 cheaper to buy 500L and 500L than it is to buy 1000L

Got 595 in Limerick too, still cheaper than most I think unless someone wants to point me somewhere else.

It will take a few days for the price drops to kickin, will wait till Monday next before ordering.

I'd wait. The better deals should be just around the corner :)

Gone down to €570 for 1,00L in Cork was at €620 a few days ago.

Got a call to say they don't deliver to where we are so back on the market. Assuming similar drops across the board from next week-ish? Can see Mór Oil (who also don't deliver here) down to €580 as of today so I'm guessing so.

CheapestOil.ie is a good comparison website to get a general feel of prices nation wide

    https://www.cheapestoil.ie/heating-oil-prices/Dublin

Also, there's a price war over oil production between Saudia Arabia and Russia at the moment which means in the near term prices are going to trend downwards in my opinion.

Saw some guys in Northern Ireland commenting on Twitter that they'd seen prices around £200 sterling for 500 litres the last few days.

Yeah place in Jonesborough selling for 39.9c a litre currently

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,111 ✭✭✭This is it

€0.55 a litre with Top Oil today for about 650l

Not sure if that's good? Checking the last order from late last year it's down about €0.13 a litre

€380 for 1000 liters with J&P derrynose but expect it to drop further in next week.
DERV white isn't dropping at nearly the same rate.

This is why i hate having LPG. The 2 suppliers in the cosy cartel NEVER drop prices, only increase.....

Christ, I remember paying nearly a grand for 1000 litres back in 2010ish. Having to collect the share from housemates after we ran out and waiting 5 cold days before we could get it all the money together.

If you're collecting oil from the likes of J&P derrynose do you need a licence/permit to tow a 1000 litres of oil behind you?

Definitely not if it's in a proper fuel bowser.

In drums, you could be facing a real problem if you crashed alright. I often carry 10 drums in the back of an SUV or purchase 3-4 drums of paraffin and carry them. Definitely not against my insurance policy anyway.

Hardly a bomb. Kerosene doesn't explode. Won't even light if you drop a match onto it.

Won't catch fire by itself but in the event of a crash towing it if there's a heat source then it's very flammable.
Give me the choice 1000l water or kerosene to tow and I'll let you take the kerosene.

If you can wait another 10 days, you'll be getting 1000l for €500
