    You were expecting HBO?

We sat again for an hour and a half discussing maps and figures and always getting back to that most damnable creation of the perverted ingenuity of man - the County of Tyrone.

Resi lore is great for games and marketing material but that's about it. It's no Game of Thrones.

I still haven't played revelations 1 or 2. Weird to hear them say 8 is actually rev 3. Very interested to hear more.

Capcom have launched a small survey for Asian fans (although I think you can answer from anywhere) asking what they'd like to see next, e.g. new title, another remake, existing gen vs next gen etc.

Never heard of video games chronicle, could be BS but interesting topic. Resi 4 was absolutely class but i played through it recently and it hasn't aged well. It has such a great mix of horror and action, it would be ideal for a remake like 2 and 3.

Resi 4 is a weird one. The game is very easily still playable and holds up well. I'd rather they either did something new or made a game exploring the fall of Umbrella.

It's also much goofier than these remakes have been. How do they handle a cartoon villain like Salazar?

Edit: On second thoughts there is no way they can do a faithful remake. RE4 is a big game and that's without mentioning Separate Ways, Mercenaries and Assignment Ada.

To be fair, Mr X had that amusingly ludicrous hat so they’re OK for those absurd flourishes :)

But yeah don’t think RE4 needs a remake particularly, but Capcom aren’t exactly being driven by any sort of creative imperative. These games are lucrative so they’re obviously going to keep remaking the games they’ll know will sell.

4 is almost at Skyrim levels for amount of releases but I'd still buy the **** out of it, great opportunity to bring back mercenaries as well.

It'll be interesting to see what way they go with it (if it's actually happening). 4 marked a real departure/change of pace for the entire series, so do they try to reflect that with the remake too, or will it just be RE4 done in the same style as the RE2&3 remakes?

My thought exactly. They'd have to come up with something like that again to make lightning strike in the same place twice. One could argue REmake did it, but that was more due to having a huge technological leap available to them. Which this would not have.

The fact that there's a Platinum guy at the healm is the only thing that would give them a chance at coming up with something special.

Are they asking to have her removed from the game or just in terms of escort sections?

I have no idea. I just saw the meme and got a laugh out of it.

I think remaking this is just a cynical cashgrab like the RE3 remake.

Yeah I'd much rather a new branch of RE games using the engine and style of RE2remake (and some good elements from RE3). A lot of the criticisms of RE3remake stem from the differences from the original. That's only going to get worse with an RE4 remake considering how beloved that game is, and how it's more updated already from the original RE2 & RE3.

Thy should remake code-veronica and the outbreak games, leave resi 4 off for a while, still a very good game.

Code Veronica was trash. I genuinely think it is the weakest of the series by some margin. I'd even rank RE Survivor above it.

And that's why they should remake it, put a more serious tint to it.

What if they remade Resi 4 - but it's actually scary this time?

Also just a bit less brown, thanks.

Ah here.. RE CV was almost on a par with the original RE3 and just behind 1, 2 and 4. It's actually a very similar game to the PlayStation 1 games with very little wrong with It imo. I'd put CV above 0, 5, 6, 7, Revelations 1&2 and all the spinoffs.

I'd say they'd have to considering it's the survival horror aspects of the 2&3 remake that's most popular. RE4 is still a great game but its due a remake.

Agree to disagree, there are so many things I found unnecessarily irritating about that game but if they were to remake it then there would be an opportunity to address some of them. (On that note, the Golden Luger puzzle, when Steve refuses to hand them over to you because 'he found them first' but he will 'trade them for an automatic weapon' it should be permissible to beat him to a bloody pulp!)

Personally I'd like to see zero redone next

    :)

I would love to see Dino Crisis. Got that, MGS and Syphon Filter with my PS1 back in the day.

Think they renewed the trademark or something on it recently enough, maybe end of last year.

DC was one of my most played games when it came out, loved it and would love to see it get a new lick of paint.

As far as remakes go id personally like to see the original resident evil done in the same vein as 2 and 3, it was the creepiest one of all IMO, id also be interested in a code veronica remake, that has the potential for a substantial game, I always remember it being the longest with a lot of content.

Resident evil 4 never did it for me.
