I do exactly that! I do mine a little longer and at 200C as I like them darker. It is good doing your own as you can brown as much as you want.

I liquidise salt in my ninja blender which turns it to a fine powder. This sticks very evenly to the nuts. Also good for skinny chips/fries.

The toasted nuts taste far better than the ones that cost almost twice the price per kg. And they are absolutely amazing when still warm, but even cooled down I find them a lot nicer

I use them in Chinese cooking and the sauces & soy sauce can be salty enough, so I store some unsalted.

These are the ones,

Tesco Cashew Nuts 200G €2.39 (€11.95/kg)
https://www.tesco.ie/groceries/Produ.../?id=266376222
they are in a resealable bag too, I cook the lot and put back in when cool.

What a waste - they really didn't need to put cashew nuts in a resealable bag...(as if anyone has ever not finished them all off in one go!)

The tesco price for macadamia nuts is very good too €2.79 for 100g - it might seem expensive but for mac nuts it's actually not and they are also pretty hard to get, not every supermarket has them. They are lovely roasted too.

Yesterday they were selling off a few different size boxes of Thorton's assortments for between around 3 - 4 euro. I think these are the ones - definitely the top one, not sure if the lower one is identical, but it was a Thornton's Continental 284g box

Tesco have an new own brand out, which is not blatantly labelled as tesco, called "hearty food co"

The battered formed white fish which was pretty good. It is 95c for 500g, 4 reformed "fillets".

I can only see cod cakes online, along with other things like spag bol. All pretty cheap

https://www.tesco.ie/groceries/produ...=hearty%20food

Be careful with the soft drinks, many have changed their recipe and lowered sugar so might taste very different.

Some of the hearty food meals are subject to a product recall due to undeclared allergens http://www.irishmirror.ie/news/irish...l-12472070.amp

It is odd the breaded and battered ones do not show online, they are extraordinarily cheap. I think they were pollock and so that is why they are cheaper than the cod cakes.

Google has them in its history

I think I saw on Hot UK deals that these are a rebranded version of the old Tesco Everyday value meals/products
