Which jungles are the youngest and oldest on Earth?

The Asphalt Jungle dates back to 1950, the concrete ones in China are way more recent. As for the natural ones, not a clue. :p

Which jungles are the youngest and oldest on Earth?

My biggest problem is the definition of jungle, so I'll assume Rain Forests.

The oldest surviving would be Taman Negara in Malaysia. The youngest is a conundrum, as many areas are replanted. I'll guess, for a naturally occurring forest, Sri Lanka.

Is this like Ireland and bananas? Imported, processed and exported? I will make a wild guess at the Netherlands.

The only place in the world where bananas are processed is Queensland. Queenslanders are known as "banana benders". How else could you process them? :)

I thought I had answered Srameen - to say heavens that was a wild guess about Netherlands and nutmeg! But it didn't 'take'. Also I thought at one time Ireland was the biggest importer / mover of bananas, it was so mad it stuck with me.

Anyway question...can't recall what the question was that I asked so I will think of another one.

    >>> Question: Greenland is reckoned as the largest island in the world, where does Ireland rank?

Here's one from a Polish online quiz which I'm too lazy to translate to English:

Where are found the Crump's mouses?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 32,688 ✭✭✭✭ytpe2r5bxkn0c1

Crump's Mice are native to parts of India, Nepal and Myanmar, so dry sub tropical forest areas.
