Froome and Thomas inclusion would make little to no difference, jumbo visma are just too strong.

Chapeau to Adam Yates for giving this a go

Finally Yates attacks, surely the others will at least try secure their podium and follow him?

    Porte having a great ride.

Tom Dumoulin as a domestique is a real hammer.

    Pogacar for the stage win?

    Pogacar for the stage win?

Very possibly. Valverde could be close as well. It'd be very interesting if Pogacar ended up getting the 10 second bonification and Roglic not getting anything

    Slovenians 1,2 again

As super strong as Jumbo Visma are... They still can't get rid of Pogacar. 40 seconds between them now?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,763 ✭✭✭griffin100

I couldn't see Froome doing anything at this tour so don't think he looks like a fool at all.

I hope that Sky go for stage wins now as the the likes of Kwiatski could get win a stage.

I’d probably agree on Froome, but Thomas is going well in Italy at the minute and would’ve given Sky another option.

Jumbo Visma seem to be where Sky were a few years ago with Grand Tour contenders acting as domestiques.

The Yellow Jersey battle is now narrowed down to who gets bragging rights as Slovenian No. 1.

Btw, Pogacar is the national TT champion, not Roglic.

Indeed and pogacar beat roglic in a TT recently which in itself is some feat.

Slovenian nationals, by 9 seconds and it was an uphill one too, but much shorter than what they face next weekend.

Total domination by jumbo, Ineos sky have imploded
Don’t know why Yates went at 7.5 km, he had no chance of a stage win that far out

There'll be a good scrap for 3rd though.

Looked to me like he was hoping someone would come across and join him to share the work and stay away.

We might see someone from Ineos like carapaz given license to Attack and claim a stage win breakaway now.

Currently Pogačar could win Yellow, white & KOM jerseys.

Hopefully a few others contest the KOM this week

He's moved up one place on G.C.

The suggestion from George Hincapie(according to his sources within the peloton) is that UAE are quite happy for Pogacar to chip away slowly at the time deficit while keeping Roglic and Jumbo in the jersey; the time loss in the crosswinds was said to be a blessing in disguise as UAE don't have the team to control the race.

If that's true then UAE consider Pogacar the strongest in the race and must be confident of him overtaking Roglic in the TT. It's a dangerous game to play and won't add much to the viewing spectacle up until the final TT. It would be nearly better if he was still 2-3 minutes down at this stage.

Very funny. Who did he jump, Bernal?

Movistar are back in the lead of the Movistar Classification

I disagree , who was gonna take that on with 3 jumbo riders on the front, it was a foolish move, doomed from the start even if he had a helper
You could see at the end he had not got the legs for a sprint or a zone 5 effort for 7 Kim’s ....
Looked to me like he was hoping someone would come across and join him to share the work and stay away.

I think he is among the strongest a clearly, he’s doing it solo for the most part in the critical phases of each stage

But for the loss in crosswinds there would only be a handful of seconds in it
