Folks,
I just wanted to highlight Seasearch Ireland which runs courses & workshops on marine life ID. There will be intro level courses held in Cork, Skerries and Galway this year.

These are basically organised as one day of classroom lectures and 2 dives to help people brush up this ID skills.

There are some workshops in specialist areas i.e. Nubibranchs in Galway in July with Bernard Picton the UK nudibranch expert coming down from Ulster and Seasquirts and Sponges in Cork in August with David Kipling .

We will also be holding some Seasearch dives where people can come along, do a dive and then try to record what they saw on their dive to confirm their Id skills.

I would put in links to some course descriptions but havn't enough posts (yet)

All courses and dives are open to qualified divers , Minimum qualifications are BSAC Sports Diver, PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, SAA Club Diver or CMAS 2 Star equivalent. You need to have done at least 20 dives of which 10 should have been in temperate sea water.
