    That’s an Orb weaver.

So how DO you identify a False Widow?

Ive been finding big spiders in the washbasin all month.
But this morning's catch was much blacker than the others and with almost wasp-like markings on her back - bum - whatever that bit is.
She's in the jailhouse now....between a glass jar and a white card.

Usually we throw them in the garden.
But if its an invasive, I'll kill it.

But when I look up online how to ID it, I'm not finding a reliable key for a sure identification.

    Any spiderologists out there?

That is a false widow :D

They have a kind of skull shaped marking on their back, you’d normally see them in car wing mirrors and places like that but they will travel indoors as well if given an opportunity.

It's not a false widow. Black lace-weaver spider?

Think that's a male False Widow. Female has the big shiny butt that you see on them. Both creepy B@stards!!
