Rained for a good bit last night here and a couple of heavy showers this morning as well. Ground is holding up well atm, about normal for the time of year.

Still very warm, t-shirt weather once you avoid the showers. Going fencing today as ground is perfect for driving stakes with the loader, soft enough to drive 4inch posts enough to hold them until I get a post driver for a day.

Nippy enough here. Grass still growing but slowing down abit in fairness

In east Wicklow it's been very dry
Only 1.4mm recorded last night for example
This is limiting grass growth for obvious reasons
However on the positive side,it means ground here might take a lot more rain than other parts of the country before trafficability suffers, so stock out until xmas even with milking cows may again be a runner
    Everything has trade offs

Bale gone into the heifers here today, I decided it was a better option than bringing them back to the main milker block and robbing grass from the cows. The fact that I escaped the whole summer so far without feeding here is a win for us definitely.

Beautiful day here in lemybrien stopping for a coffee en route to the Diosese of Kerry for a funeral
One thing I'll say about this drive on a day like today and that is,What a beautiful country we live in and what a fabulous job farmers do in looking after it

It’s like a mini summer here. Mowing out paddocks on an organic farm

Cows were all resting on the parts of the paddock with rock near the surface. It's been a while since I saw that happening.

Beautiful day but days getting shorter alright.

Miserable wet misty day here so far.

I'd say it has to be the same across the mountains at the ploughing site.

Lovely day today. Upto 21 degrees.A bit of fog earlier

Beautiful day in the west, looked at the phone at lunchtime and it told me it was 22 degrees, felt like it too.
Land still soft though, left plenty of marks in a silage field, and the cows are pushing down more grass than the sun is pulling up but it's a nice change for however long it lasts (Saturday supposedly).

Was some week here 20+ every day and savage drying in the sun and breeze.Sounds like it's coming to an end tomorrow.

Tropical here ..it will take a lot of water to soften the ground. Can't help noticing the amount of berries on the hedges the old ppl used to say the sign of a hard winter.

Slow morning to open up with heavy dew. Turned into a super day with good sun and wind. Ended up baling hay this evening.

Failed to cover silage pit this morning due to SE wind. Blowing all day and still is. Hope it calms down before morning. Some amount of bales made around here in the last month. Was going to make bales with intention of selling but I'd say they'd be hard to sell on, seeing what feeding is in yards around here. Then again maybe not if winter lingered on

Rain just started here with an easterly wind. Looks down for the day too.

Hope it stays there all day, I need a few dry hours to get the last of the silage in.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.
