Oh Munster, how you break my heart :(

I'm not even posting my bets tonight (ffs Leinster couldn't even manage -8.5 in the 1st half) all of them failed and the account is empty. I think I'll stick to real rugby for the rest of the season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

2.25 units lost tonight, 2.25 units came in. So I'm on a slight loss going into tomorrow, with Connacht and Perpignan bets still outstanding.

Taken South Africa at -11, I'm surprised the handicap is that low tbh.

    Leinster -8
    Treviso +23

    7.5 units.

Have been lurking and not posting recently so hope this was worth the wait.....

South Africa to win the Rugby Championship - 4/1 They are at home to Aus and NZ and the way they are playing I can't see the kiwi's beating them in SA. The odds seem far too generous.

    For this weekend I like

Zebre + 8 - Glasgow have made a lot of changes to the team that beat Leinster and Zebre are on a high.

Cardiff +17 - I hope Leinster smash this but I found out the hard way last season that when the big guns are coming back into the team after rest periods they tend to be a bit rusty and the tries are not as free flowing as you'd expect.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,174 ✭✭✭✭Buer

I'd be relatively confident in your selections, GT. Some good shouts in there even if there is a conflict between our respective Leinster bets. I expect Leinster to win by 10-15 but mostly down to the incompetence of the Blues as opposed to anything impressive by Leinster.

  • Registered Users Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

    I'm on 48.97 units.

No decent value in the. Leinster or Ulster handicaps so I've gone for:

    Dave Kearney to score a try - 6/5 - 3 Units
    Mike Allen to score a try - 5/6 - 3 Units
(Both of these in a double 1.5 Units)

And then also Edinburgh to win by 1-12 points (8/5) - 1 Unit

    Ulster
    Northampton
    Stade Francais
    South Africa
    Wasps
    Munster
    Grenoble
    Man Utd
    Bayern Munich
    Dortmund
    Real Madrid or Draw
    Dnipro or Draw

    Over 2.5 tries in first half Leinster-Cardiff: 1 unit @ 5/4
Dave Kearney to score a try: 2 units @ 6/5
    Glasgow -8: 2 units @10/11

(also for the sake of completeness and so I can keep track of this
    Bears: 1 unit @13/10
    Chargers: 1 unit @ 11/10
    Cardinals: 2 units @23/20
accy on the above: 1 unit)

    New balance: 80 units

Have a feeling my lucky streak will end this weekend!

Did Toner to score a try in 80 minutes at 11/1

    God knows why!

I used to regularly have a punt on Toner to score a try - he's always a good price, hangs around the fringes of rucks near the try line and bound to get over sooner or later. Tonight could be the night, I think I'll copy you.:D

Didn't go for Toner in the end but he had another good game and I'm sure I'll return to him soon. Various try scorers let me down but with my account facing obliteration (again) Ian Madigan's late try left me 15% up on the night. :D

I put 30 or 40 euro into my paddy power account at the start of last season and the season before and I'd gamble that for the season on rugby. Sometimes I'd be up quite a bit, like over 100euro, and other times i'd be down to 2 euro. At the end of each season I'd end up taking out 30 or 40 euro.

I enjoyed it but for what ever reason I've no interest in doing it this season.

    Best of luck everyone!

Agh! Got greedy and added Treviso -17 to the double. Stupid last minute try cost me there.

Ah no, Tom. I was reading back over this last night thinking you absolutely nailed it.

I had the Treviso game but was a little reluctant to go so low thinking Ulster's bench had a bit of a punch in it.

Springboks now at evens to win -12 which looks mighty tempting and to get more than 13.5 points in first half at 5/6. They'll surely fling the kitchen sink at the hapless Aussies. :D
