Another inch of rain has fallen in Claremorris so far today (00z-16z) bringing its December total up to 161.1 mm, which 129.4% of its entire December average - and it's still only the 9th.

Very very heavy rain here in west clare (Surprising looking at the Rainfall Radar) and strong gusty winds. Looking at the road cars going around 40km/h when 100km/h is a normal speed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 526 ✭✭✭coillsaille

    Squall line!

I thought it must be. Was driving west from Galway city when I met it. Wipers going at max speed and still could barely make out the car in front or even the road.

Newport, Knock and Castlebar are also heading for same values after today, actually Newport has had only one sub 100mm month this year, and that was June, same in Castlebar.
