Group A: Scotland, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Namibia, Singapore, Kenya, Bermuda.
Group B: UAE, Ireland, Oman, Hong Kong, Canada, Jersey, Nigeria.

Ireland in the better looking group for the world t20 qualifiers beginning in October

Seems like a very soft group on paper.. but then we're so bad I'd bet everyone else in our group is thinking the same and the top teams will fancy their chances against us

Yeah we stink at t20, didn't Oman beat us at last wc

Paul Stirling has commited his future to Ireland after opting to leave Middlesex at the end of the season.

The two year leniency period for Irish players playing county cricket in England was up at the end of the season and so he had a choice whether to commit to Middlesex and give up playing for Ireland.

Great news for us, as with the security of a county contract at Middlesex for Stirling, I must admit I am surprised.

Should be the next Irish captain.

Ireland about to play Netherlands in T20 here. Play due to start at 1:30 but delayed due to some mist.

It's free in as well but can't see many taking up the offer unfortunately

    EDIT:
    Ireland's XI
    Mark Adair
    Andrew Balbirnie
    George Dockrell
    KO'B
    Boyd Rankin
    Paul Stirling
    Gary Wilson
    Gareth Delany
    Shane Getkate
    Harry Tector
    David Delany.

Bit of youth in that team. The two Delanys are very young. Tector is only 19. Adair obviously. Be a good test for them today.

Saw most of the 2nd half of their innings, boundary after boundary. Hopefully a bigger crowd for the Ireland games.

Ireland won the toss and elected to bat. Starting at half I believe.

    Adair (23)
    Balbirnie (28)
    Dockrell (27)
    O'Brien (35)
    Tucker (23)
    Wilson (33)
    G. Delany (22)
    D. Delaney (21)
    Young (29)
    Tector (19)
    Thompson (28)

Age in brackets. Good to see a lot of youth coming through. Wasn't long ago we had a few lads touching 40 with nobody under 30 in the team.

Are the Delanys not related? They're spelled differently according to Cricket Ireland but I always thought they were.

Used to play cricket with Gareth, who's my age, for Leinster. Lovely lad, hope he goes far.

Gareth's sister Laura is a very good cricketer and plays for Ireland too. Possibly captain

8500 watching this online. Are these people in the subcontinent or people watching on the phone in work? I imagine a bit of both.
