    London/Paris have excellent transport networks.

Special mention for Budapest, which I thought was v v good also, where it's metro system is as old as London's but hasn't had half the money pumped in...

It's also a fraction of the size of LU.

Moscow's underground system is good and the stations themselves are impressive

I was impressed with Vienna. Obviously anywhere with an underground is going to be far better than Dublin
Actually one of the big differences is that they didn't rip up tram lines, the way we did

Dublin had a great tram network , especially between the canals. Yes it needed improving, but we had trams to Howth, Lucan, Blessington (and beyond)

1923 - Solid red lines are trams, dashed lines are buses.

We also had the first scheduled suburban railway too.

Imagine we kept the tram lines and added to them later on..

Imagine we used the train lines in Dublin port to move the trucks out of the city.

Still you have to admire what we had
Agree 100%. To think of the railways we had back in the 20's. We wouldn't dream of building them now, even during the most economicly successful period in our history because they're too expensive! And if you drive around the country, see how many schools were built around the same time too:(
