Great lost and under appreciated band of the 1980s. They have a documentary coming out here on DVD next month called 'Right Here'. Highly recommended as is their back catalogue.

Yeah, I'm not too familiar with them but I really like "Streets of Your Town".

I saw them supporting REM in 1989.

Brilliant band, one of my favourites.

If you're looking for a way in, get the double CD version of 1978-1990 - here. 28 tracks. There's a double LP too but the sound is only so-so.

I see the second long-awaited box set is finally due soon.

Where did you see that? Been scouring for news of it.

Posted on their Facebook page at the end of August.

No info - just a photo of the box (yellow, volume 2 on it) and a coming soon tagline.

One thing I didn't like about Volume 1 was the download option - I bought the second pressing and the download only consisted of a selection of tracks (around 18). I think if you were in at the start, the download code gave you the entire contents.

Ah, cheers for that. Genuinely hadn't seen anything about it and I'm not on Facebook. I didn't take the plunge first time around because it was their mid to late period that I loved. The first albums made them the band they became and so I wasn't gonna splurge on the box set because I liked the design. Will be doing so for this next one though.
I also see that Luke Haines tweeted recently that he'd written notes for a forthcoming Go-Betweens box set but added nothing to that. No doubt the next set will come at a hefty price also.

The first box was £120. Including the vinyl drove the price up. Would much have preferred if it was CD only as I already bought the albums on vinyl back in the '80s - but suggesting that was like heresy and led to howls of "you're not a real fan" from some of their hipster cheerleaders.
