Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Does a firm have to delete data if requested under GDPR

    As it says on the tin. If it is requested that your data be deleted under GDRP does it have to do so or can they refuse?

    i think they will delete it but it has to be after they hold onto it for 5 years or something in case you decide to come back and dispute charges etc to your bank, so yes they will delete it but 5 years after you request it imo, could be wrong though

    No, they do not have to comply if there is a legitimate business reason to hold on to your data.

    For example, you cannot ring the Revenue Commissioners and tell them to remove you from their systems!
