I've used Amber fuel pumps over the years when passing their forecourts - mainly used petrol although I am now using a diesel vehicle for the last while. I have never discovered had any negative issues afterwards thank God. I've heard of some motorists in the past having issues but I'm not sure if it was the same supply firm you referenced.

In the event that anyone has discovered that a fuel delivery was found to be contaminated, please find the below link for guidance and advice:

    https://www.ccpc.ie/consumers/cars/contaminated-fuel/

Less mpg from the forecourt diesel here. Could be different where you are. Heating oil not a clean sometimes. Wouldn’t be bothered with it again. Once bitten..........

    Spring19

€20 off 1000L , applied pro rata for lesser amounts

At a guess... When that code expires, the next codes will be Autumn19 , Winter20, and there'll probably be a Ploughing19 thrown in for good measure.

The codes seem to repeat themselves, with just the year changing.

I just guessed the Spring19 , and it works.

    "Spring19" has expired.

    What's the latest promo code?

  • Registered Users Posts: 16 CWBS

€358 for 500L in Ballybofey at the moment.

None of the codes I have written down are working, not even SAVE20 which worked for me for a good few months.

Here's hoping they at least won't jack up the prices on account of the Iran-US tensions rising.

    Not for me unfortunately.
Hard to know if its wise to wait until July with the situation in the Middle East right now.

bloody oil, keeps on increasing each year.
Any thoughts on how this brexit shambles could affect oil prices? (or not at all)

Whitegate refinery in cork (the states only refinery) accounts for 40% of all fuel in this country.
    They refine it from crude.
(I don't know how much kerosene they make)

The other 60% of fuel (finished product) is imported, a lot of this comes via the UK into the likes of Foynes and Dublin.

So any fuel coming into Foynes or Dublin that has been refined in a non EU country (UK) will attract an additional duty. Likewise, crude from UK north sea fields will have extra duty applied also.

So unless we source our finished fuel from The Netherlands (Rotterdam) or other EU ports, well be paying extra duty.

As it stands, crude coming into whitegate comes from the UK , Europe, Russia, Africa,North America.

    Draw your own conclusions

Here's an article from the BBC.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/business-49405270

The UK market looks confusing, but they are going to remove import duties and reduce excise duty in the event of a hard Brexit, just to keep the economy going.

Slightly cheaper than last September. Can't see brexit causing too much trouble.

    Autumn19

That works for me.. but even with the €20 discount, it's still cheaper to go with another supplier

All depends on where you are in the country
www.cheapestoil.ie has a few suppliers in cork for €680 for 1000L

Top in cork are €710 for 100L , less the €20 discount.
