have to buy a new controller lads, the r2 trigger is banjo-ed, make that fooked after i wd40 it this evening ...........its like porno stars fiddly bits now such is the oil coming out of it ;)

just wish they run a server with all the maps as opposed to each dlc getting its own rotation

I agree they could simply have a multi map server, that checks if you have the relative DLC when you try to join the server to begin with, they already do detect it on battlelog with the small icons beside your account stating what dlc you have, I think the reason these maps don't get any love is the fact you have to go out of rotation just to play them.

Pretty sure if you hadn't have used wd you would have some sort of warranty no? And my L1 on a controller has been getting stuck since day 1. I know it's an easy fix but it's still a pain buying faulty products. Seems thousands had the same L1 problems as myself.

See ya on there but it hasn't popped up for me yet! Not in the in game store or the normal p's store? Where did you find it?

Edit: Have it now. Quick restart and it popped up!

Go to the main PS dashboard and scroll to the right to the Library. Go in there and select Battlefield 4, then go down to Related Items and you'll see Second Assault. The PS store doesn't update until later in the evening I think so that's probably why it's not there

Only took about 2 minutes at most to download. Re-launch BF4 and It'll tell you Second Assault unlocked :D

    Quick first impressions;

Firestorm looks very grey but is highly flammable. The oil slicks on the A, B & C actually seem like they could be useful from time to time

Metro looks good. A few new ways up to B so you don't always have to get bottlenecked by the escalators. Some mini levolution dotted around the map as well. Notice one at the top of the eescalators themselves which could help push the defenders off the point for a few seconds

Oman is pretty much the same from what I've seen. That sand storm looks ****ing massive. The high winds will eventually bring down that annoying sniper crane on E which I really like. Also noticed some small IEDs around the A flag perfect for defending it and surprising any attackers.........also, Skid loader FTW :D

Caspian seems a little lopsided with the huge wall pining the Americans back with only 2 flags on their side. I know you can destroy the wall but if you can defend the wall itself the it'll be tough to break out. Looks awesome though

Liking the new maps right now simply from an appearance stand point, but obviously it'll take a few days play to get a proper sense of them. Gotta get my AS VAL now

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,282 ✭✭✭paul_booth_fan

Never got a single kill in the Skid Loader in the entire time I played BF3..............less than 3 minutes into my first match on Oman I finally ran a guy over :D

Good reviews, i loved Oman, probably have 150 hours on that map alone looking forward to playing it later

    about €14.99 each DLC so..

    China Rising : €14.99
    Second Assault : €14.99
    Naval Strike : €14.99
    Dragon’s Teeth : €14.99
    Final Stand : €14.99

    Total: €74.95

Premium: €50.00 and you get all 5 of the DLC.

I am not premium but i have china rising and i will buy second assault but i doubt i will get naval strike, the jury is out on the rest.

Think the same price as standard maps, bout 14.99, I think there is a 2 week gap from when premium gets it to when it goes on sale for normal account's...

First impressions ive only played Caspian and Firestorm so far, look great on PS4, still didn't update the game so a lot of annoying bugs still present, I'd say they will update the game next week and break more "features", joy o joy...

You can use the Playstation app and a debit card to make purchase from the Playstation Store.......you'll never have to leave the house again :)

Swore I'd never put any card details in after the last debacle. Only use the psn cards now.

I actually never even thought of that with the PS4 - think it might be time to go down that route on my own account, I doubt the servers are that much more secure since the big hack....

The full details of cards was never exposed.

If you have a decent debit card, you can set a lot of limits on it.

Plus you can also use temp visa cards like the o2 one.

I think that's part of the reason why we pay for online play now. Using the money generated to cover costs of greater network protection. Microsoft have been doing it for years anyway so I don't mind finally having to cough up for what works out as a tiny amount per day.

I use an O2 card myself

Yep yep yep..............Second Assault is nearly a very good DLC but falls just short.

Metro is ****ing ****. It's basically 50 people throwing grenades while the other 14 use the LVG. With how quickly the V40 mini grenades replenish, and the fact you get 3 is just madness. Also, if you're playing as the US side it's almost a guaranteed lose. The new routes in and around the B flag are actually decent but they too turn into massive bottlenecks.

Oman, ironically, is probably ruined by the new levolution designed to rejuvenate the map. Massive storm comes in after only about 5 minutes and erases any sense of aircraft providing assistance. Almost renders snipers completely useless(not always a bad thing to be fair) as vision is restricted to barely medium range.

Firestorm is actually ok. Pretty much everything can be either blown up or set on fire. Not to much to say on it really, if you liked it in BF3 you'll love the changes here. If you didn't like it then there's not really a lot to change your opinion.

Caspian Border looks gorgeous, and when the tower on the hilltop comes down it can provide quick access to the forest flag. However, the wall is an atrocious piece of map design. It completely destroys the flow between the flags and just causes lots of standing gun fights. Sooo many snipers as well, the fact DICE seems to be encouraging them with some of the assignments doesn't help.

Not a bad effort but I think trying to turn 3 meh maps into something revolutionary was a step to far. What they have in fact done, is turn Caspian Border(the 1 map almost unanimously liked by all BF players) from one of the most balanced and free flowing maps into a slow paced slugfest focused on the main gate and a few small holes in the wall. Hopefully my opinion will change over the next few weeks, these are just my first impressions from only a couple of hours gameplay. Kinda glad they didn't try update Grand Bazaar now though :)

Hmmmm...was going to get this DLC when in a couple of weeks when it comes out for everybody, but your making me rethink it now by your remarks :D,does it get old after an hours play like china rising?,what about CTF? did you try that yet.

I honestly haven't put too much time into it yet so I really didn't intend to come across so negative, ha ha. I think when we can finally get our own servers and drop the player count, Metro could be very very good. Extra ways onto the flag would stretch the defenders and generally help the gameplay, 32v32 is simply hilarious at first just because I've never seen that many grenades at once. Gets tiring very quickly though. Reduce the number of players though and it has loads of potential. Gonna jump on in a minute and I'll try out CTF.

Getting kicked from every game I get into. Not my Internet as that's fine. Really shirty servers! And any second assault game I have joined has been one sided. Either winning by loads or getting destroyed.

Very unbalanced and **** so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,282 ✭✭✭paul_booth_fan

Oh wow. Metro DOES NOT work for CTF at all........horrendous stand off at the escalators, nobody can even see the enemy flag, never mind trying to actually capture it. Can't even imagine how you'd get it back to your own base.

just to let you all know, the handgun unlocks are in the store for free for non premiums and the dmr unlocks for premiums.

just add them to checkout and download and it will unlock said weapons for you.

I've only played this once, but I personally really enjoyed it. The sandstorm whipping in makes for a huge tactical change on the map, and also means you no longer need to worry about being pot-shotted from the crane or carrier while running between flags.

I've played it a few times more since my initial rant and I've calmed down a bit to be honest. The simple fact it has eliminated those stupid carrier campers justifies the storm itself. Still seems a waste when you can't really see most of the map, I'm just being picky though.

Rush plays quite well thankfully. Haven't noticed any glaring issues yet which is good. Lots of played still getting to grips with the new versions of the maps so fairly passive gameplay.

Played for a few hours now and the maps are still fun......although at this stage I just won't touch Metro Conquest.......take Metro outta the rotation and I'd be happy.
