A somewhat wordy way is "Teastaíonn croí mór uait chun intinne beaga a mhúineadh". I make no guarantees on the grammar.

Literally translates to "You need a big heart to teach little minds"

"Tógann sé croí mór chun intinní beaga a mhúineadh". Its literal but its fine translated that way...

not sure if you need a direct translation but a nice one that is used regularly is

‘Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí.’ praise the youth and it will come...an extended version of this which i don’t really like as much is the following
‘Bual sa tóin í agus titfidh sí.’ kick in the hole and it will fall apart.
