I'm getting the parts together for a new project. Just wondering: Would it be sacrilege to have Campag Bora wheels with a Shimano groupset??

Whether it is sacrilegious depends on your religious and/or moral views. What you are considering, though, is certainly illegal.

100 %. This is why Fulcrums exist.

Better off going with a campag gruppo - problem solved. Potenza is an excellent alternative to Ultegra.

If the wheel fits, ride it.

if you're unsure, stick a shimano wheel on the front and a campy on the back.

This is all getting very confusing. On the one hand, I agree with the 'ride your dream, whatever the hell frankenstein it is'.
On the other hand, the rules are the rules.
I have Potenza on another bike, and can't warm to it. I'm a Shimano whore all the way.
But Bora wheels look the biz, and feel super to ride.
    First world, and all that.

    What Frame?
    What Saddle?
    What Handlebars, pedals etc.?

C'mon...we can't make such a vital decision without all the facts! :)

Hmm. Call me superstitious, but on a 70 kmph descent, I'd like to know the cycling gods are not angry with me..

Merckx 525 (the original design, before the yukky facelift in 2016). Wanted one since they came out in 2012/2013.
Has to be a Prologo saddle, and probably Deda bars as used by Topsport Flaanderen. Although I might go 3T ergo bars yet.
Defo Di2. Dura Ace if I can afford it. Any cost benefit analysis would say Ultegra, but feck it, I could be dead next week.
Ideally Bora One Ultra 50 mm with tanwall tyres. Clinchers, as tubulars are a pain.
My wheel preference was originally FFWD F6R, but the new full carbon versions are all dark label. These wheels need a bit of colour. And a lot of the FFWD wheels have that awful silver brake track around the rim, like Mavics.

Still not sure about Campag wheels with a Shimano drivetrain. I have visions of arriving at a cafe in Rapha gear for the obligatory espresso, and suddenly everyone goes quiet and the jukebox stops.
