looks like this is just technical price drop and it will be back to $20+ tomorrow

Article says its about contracts to purchase for May delivery which expire today. Nobody wants the cost or hassle of storage, so they are paying people to take it off their hands.

Do you have a link for this? Topaz Ireland is now Cirlce K, I can't find anything about heating oil on their site?
    Thanks

I'm in Mayo and usually order from Corrib Oil, online they are quoting €500 for 1000 litres. Jones Oil quoting €430 for 1000 litres. I could call Corrib and say Jones have it for 43c/l, but could I do better?

Brent oil has dropped to $20, so there is no need for anyone to rush a delivery.

Prices in most places will be under €400 for 1000L for the foreseeable future. Even the extra carbon tax will not make a difference except for a few days.

Yep, Brent has continued to drop steadily and closed at 19.71 today, the lowest price since 2002.

    Interesting one.

I was in Jones oil in Tallaght today getting diesel, and casually asked how much 500l of kerosene was, delivered to D24. She quoted me 200 euro.

Just been on their site and it quotes me 250 euro....

Whelan oil Mullingar 199 for 500ltr and 377 for 1000. I'm completely out so will fill up tomorrow. If these prices continue I don't see the point in getting coal from NI

395 for 1000 in South Kilkenny with campus oil, "cm15"
For 15 euro off online quotes

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,817 ✭✭✭Darc19

If anyone is quoted over €400 online, ring the depot and ask for the price.

Many of these places are not up to date on technology and the website operator is dependent on the local distributor to inform them of the price.

So a quick call might save you a few quid.

Plenty of tanks for sale second hand. I was thinking of buying one and keeping a few hundred litres spare. I doubt we'll get it at this price again.

Just keep it safe though, theres plenty of lads in vans who would relieve you of 1000 litres very quickly

Suppose it depends how quick you use it.
