    Hi All,

Just a quick question, what happens if someone on the Non Contributory State Pension inherits money.

    Thanks in advance

It depends how much. You can have up to €20,000 in savings.

After that, means are assessed as €1 per €1,000 for the next €10,000; €2 per €1,000 for the next €10,000 after that and €4 per €1,000 for any remaining.

    Many thanks for that SourSessions.

A relative was recently put on the Widower's Contributory pension from the Non Contributory Pension. What is the situation with this pension regarding inheritance ??

    Thanks in Advance.

Contributory pensions are not means tested (but are taxable so there may or may not be a liability there)
