Welcome to the Arch Tech forum.

Please take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the rules of the Forum.

This board is intended for discussion of issues concerning Architectural Technicians/Technologists.

Following a discussion between myself, muffler, Mellor and the Admins of boards.ie, we have amended the charter to clarify what this forum is about.

    The amendment reads as follows...

This forum to be used for discussing and debating all matters relevant to or of interest to AT's etc and to explore ways in which the profession can be further advanced, recognised and accepted by other professions and institutions. While all discussion and debate is welcome, it should be noted that the forum may not be used to establish or promote any particular group or orginisation.

We have a good forum here where ideas can be exchanged but we will remain neutral when it comes to other organisations.

Just to add a few points to smasheys post. The main construction and planning forum has been (as they say down on the farm) flying like shite off a shovel since it's creation. It has grown steadily and its safe to say that we are now getting at least treble the amount of visitors/users and threads compared to this time last year.

As you will all see we now have 2 sub forums to cater for the renewable energies and architectural technicians/technologists. The RE forum is also rapidly developing and while its early days yet the Arch Tech sub forum is coming along nicely and Im confident it will go from strength to strength as more people become aware of it.

We all know why the Arch Tech forum was set up and as smashey said it is a good forum and the reason for that is down to you, the users. Before this forum was set up we had a good few regulars who have given some fantastic advice and have debated many issues even to the point of nearly falling out at times ;) which at the end of the day is a good thing as all points of view are put forward and despite the odd difference of opinion we have mutually respected everyone's opinions and viewpoints.

Over the last few weeks we have more new users (and we welcome you all) and a lot of topics have been and still are being debated. The more people who contribute to this forum the more we will learn from each other and in doing so we can come up with ideas and suggestions as to how best to achieve the recognition that our profession deserves. But we were mindful of other events and thus felt the need to amend the charter so as there would be no misunderstanding as to why the forum was set up and what way it will be run and developed in the future.

Finally I'd just like to point out that the charter is still "under construction" (Christ I just love the puns :D) and it will be updated and amended as time goes on. We would expect everyone to post in accordance with the charter and if in doubt you can always refer back to the charter for the main Construction and Planning parent forum for a bit of guidance or PM any of the mods here.

    Enjoy.
