Mature Student - Paramedic Course

    Looking for some information please.

    I live and work in Sligo and looking for a career change and I have been thinking about Paramedic for a while but I’m struggling to gather the necessary information.

    I would, if possible, prefer to do the training privately instead of through the HSR recruitment drives as I don’t want to have to do the training in Dublin or Galway.

    A private company called Medicall offer a weekend EMT course in Sligo that I am looking at.

    What is everyone’s opinion on private training in terms of the comparison in courses, job offers etc.

    I have no desire to move anywhere else in the county for personal reasons so if I cannot train and then work as a paramedic in Sligo it won’t be for me. This is what I’m struggling to get a straight answer to from my research so far.

    Any advice/opinions very much welcomed and appreciated.
