    Kendo na hEireann is organising a pub quiz to raise funds for the Irish Kendo team's upcoming trip to the European Kendo Championships in Hungary.

    Entry is €40 for a team of four people and there will be a cash prize for the first place team. There will also be lots of spot prizes and a raffle, as well as plenty of fun to be had on the night!

    Kendo is the art of Japanese sword fighting, developed from the fighting techniques of the Samurai. The modern version is practiced by an estimated six million people world-wide.

    In Ireland, Kendo is still very much a minority martial art and the Irish team receives no funding. Members pay all of their own travel expenses to represent Ireland at European level. All money raised will go towards travel expenses for the team.

    Table quiz this Tuesday, 20th April in Dicey Rileys (Russell Court Hotel), Harcourt Street at 7.30 pm in aid of the HOPE/ Froebel partnership.

    The HOPE foundation works with street children and their families in Calcutta. HOPE funds schools and coaching centres, clinics, creches, HIV/Aids programmes, vocational training and a Children's Hospital.

    Froebel College is a teacher training college in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. This June, newly qualified teachers are travelling to Calcutta to volunteers as teachers, working with the street children in schools and coaching centres.

    Venue: Dicey Rileys (Russell Court Hotel), Harcourt Street
    Date: Tuesday 20th April
    Time: 7.30 pm
    Cost: 10 euro per person

    Hello Fellow Quiz Goers :D

    A group of employees from the Independent News & Media Group are holding a table quiz in D2 tomorrow night (Friday 30th April) at 7.30!

    For those who want details, it’s in aid of the National Liver Transplant Unit which is based in St. Vincent’s University Hospital. 4 people per table and a tenner :eek: in but this also gets you into the nightclub as well – you can make a night of it:rolleyes:!

    It’s going to be a fun and varied quiz & we have great raffle prizes such as weekends (plural) away, dinners, beauty & spa treatments:cool:, vouchers and more.

    This is for a great cause and your support is both needed and appreciated.

    Hey guys,

    I know it's short notice but there's a pub quiz TOMORROW NITE (June 23) in Doyle's Pub in college green.........it's only a fiver each which is pretty cheap :D

    Tables of 4-5 and slap bang in the middle of town, easy both to go out and get home after :). Starts 7:30 to 8, and looks to be great craic

    (it even has its own bar ;) )
